Race 2

We need to go four deep in this tough 1-1/8 mile route for 10k claimers using No. 1 Becker’s Galaxy on the drop in class, No. 3 Warren’s Joe T. who is in from Andy Mathis a top Northern California trainer, No. 8 Ransom Canyon who drops to the level of his last win one race back and No. 10 Fit to Rule who is in top form and gets the hot riding Flavien Prat. 1-3-8-10

Race 3

We will take our shot here and single No. 3 Sheer Pleasure who will just love this 7 furlong distance, this filly has a good last work here on the 18th and looks ready for a smasher. 3

Race 4

We get another very wide open 7 furlong 50k claimer for 3yo and we will need to go four deep once again using No. 5 Classic Gent who gets a huge move up in class by Peter Miller, No. 7 Great Lou who gets back on the dirt where he has won 4 of his 5 starts, No. 8 Fight Thru who just did miss last out and is the stablemate of Classic Gent and No.  9 Henry’s Holiday who gets off the grass and will be making a big late run. 5-7-8-9

Race 5

No. 4 Luckbox Sam owns a very interesting work pattern for this mile turf race, No. 6 Bluegrass Bronco won his only start at Churchill Downs sprinting on the grass, he lands in the barn of David Hofmans and looks live. No. 11 It is Living Water won here on opening day. 4-6-11

Race 6

In this 2yo maiden race we will need to do some board watching but on the surface we like four runners, No. 1 Path of David who ran a nice even race in his one and only at Churchill Downs and is looking for some of that ship and win cash, No. 2 American League who ran a nice even third in his one start at Santa Anita when sent off at 2/1, No. 5 Global Event the $685k Baffert runner and No. 7 Exaggerator who has the Kent D and Keith D connections. 1-2-5-7

Race 7

In this mile turf race No. 8 Hiking comes in from over the pond for Simon Callaghan and gets Prat in the irons, No. 9 Sweet as a Rose is in good form and her one win came on this grass course last year. No. 11 Zanbo also won here last year on this course. 8-9-11

Race 8

Baffert sends out two runners No. 3 Hoppertunity the closer who just missed in his last start in the Gold Cup by a nostril and the speedy No. 4 Bayern who has not run a lick in his last two starts but those bullets say its wake up time with the move back out West. No. 6 Catch a Flight ran right behind Hoppy last out and will go better today at this shorter distance. 3-4-6

Race 9

No. 1 Unblunted ran a solid second at this level last out and can only move forward off of that effort, No. 2 Micks Miracle exits the same race and he was right behind Unblunted. No. 10 Chasintheaces lost by a head last out going six furlongs when closing fast, his one win came at this 6-1/2 furlong distance. 1-2-10

Race 10

The day ends with maiden fillies and mares going 1-1/16 on the grass and we will go outside using No. 8 Sweeter Thancandy whose best effort came last year going a mile on the grass here, No. 9 Artisticdifference gets her second start and we get Kent D sticking around for the last race and that’s always a plus, No. 10 Scandal will be a short price in here, she is very unlucky to still be a maiden but has burned some serious cash but once again is the filly to beat. No. 11 Place des Vosges lost by a neck and a neck in her last two turn routes at Churchill Downs. 8-9-10-11
