SANTA ANITA

Race 1

Not a very good racing card at Santa Anita today, we start with a 2yo $50k maiden claimer and doubt many in here are worth $50k. No. 1 Derby Chatter is a first time starter for Richard Baltas who is starting to heat up and this 2yo gelding finds little to beat. 1

Race 2

We get only a five horse field going a flat mile. No. 5 Sadie Clare gets off the grass and the move back to the dirt will get her home on top. 5

Race 3

More maiden $50k 2yo, No. 1 Collect the Debt ran a better than looked race in his first start at Del Mar back in July and can only move forward if the track is playing fair. No. 2 Suavemente is the one to beat off his first two races and that last work has him on go. 1-2

Race 4

We get maiden 2yo fillies going six furlongs. No. 2 Roo’s Valentine gets back to six furlongs a distance she just missed at one race back. No. 3 Hurricane Callie has finished second in her last three starts losing by a nose, neck and neck. No. 8 Easy Grader was sent off at 7/5 in her one start and she gets the bug boy Kennedy today. 2-3-8

Exacta box 2-3-8

Race 5

$50k maidens go a flat mile on the grass, No. 2 Selection can win this if able to run back to his nose loss here back in March. Bejarano rode him that day and he gets back on today. No. 7 Broken Up has run back to back good races on the grass and now drops in with $50k maiden claimers. No. 8 Unusually Big also just missed by a nose here on the grass back in June. 2-7-8

Exacta box 2-7-8

Race 6

No. 6 Perfect Set looks odds on with this crew, he has 3 wins and 2 seconds from his last five starts. We will single in the late pick four. 6

Race 7

No. 2 Wanstead Gardens has hit the board in all three of his starts going 1-1/4 on the grass and won here at this distance two races back. He will look to run down No. 6 Southern Freedom the lone speed. 2-6

Race 8

No. 3 Secret Command is the key player in this 5-1/2 furlong sprint. We will use him first and second in the tri with No. 4 George’s Main Man, No. 6 Alpine Luck, No. 8 Mr. Itkins and No. 10 Devil Rising and we will use all five in the late pick four. 3**-4-6-8-10
