SANTA ANITA

Race 1

No. 3 Tulira Castle has won both of his starts on the West Coast and now moves into the barn of Peter Miller off the $20k claim. No. 5 Mistaken Identity finished second behind Tulira Castle and he will be on his tail from the bell. 3-5

Race 2

We have 2yo maidens going 5-1/2 furlongs and trainer Bob Baffert sends out three in this eight horse fiel: No. 1 Drefong a $450k purchase, No. 2 Hoffenheim a $900k purchase and No. 6 Student Body Left his cheap runner as he only paid $150k for this second time starter who gets Bejarano off a bullet work. 1-2-6

Race 3

$30k maiden 2yo go six furlongs, No. 4 Purrin’ Proud gets the hot riding Mario Gutierrez and this 2yo gelding has some good early speed and will show it all today with the extra half a furlong. No. 8 Frac Candy has been well bet in all three of his starts, he lost at 6/5 last out and was claimed for 30k back on August 19th. The claim was voided so he comes back for the same good connections and if he runs he must be ok now. 4-8

Race 4

Down the hill they go, No. 5 Roy H comes off the layoff for Peter Miller sporting back to back bullet works and he owns a win on this course. No. 11 Hawkedon is in good form and has won twice over this course. No. 12 Kill Shot exits the same race as Hawkedon and will show his speed from this good post going down the hill. 5-11-12

Race 5

No. 5 Warren’s Cracker finds a field loaded with early speed, look for a big run on the drop down. No. 8 Imwiththeblonde has a shot if able to sit chilly behind the early speed but if she runs with the other speed the blonde will get cooked. 5-8

Race 6

In a real wide open 2yo maiden race going 5-1/2 furlongs we will need to go four deep using No. 2 Arabian Leopard on the turnback. No. 3 Police Escort a first time starter who has Kent D getting a rare ride for Baffert and he is the stable mate of the Arabian Leopard. No. 8 Oppidum another Baffert runner who gets his second start and No. 9 Jury a Hollendorfer first timer who gets Bejarano. 2-3-8-9

Race 7

THE GRADE II $200K TWILIGHT DERBY

No. 1 Hunt exits our HTW list in this his second start in the states. He ran big in his first at Del Mar and trainer D’Amato looks to have him ready for a big effort. No. 2 Mister Brightside is off the boat from over the pond, he gets Lasix and the hard trying James Graham, this one is very live. No. 3 Om just won the Grade II Del Mar Derby at this turf distance and will try and take them wire-to-wire once again and he does look the lone speed. 1-2-3

Race 8

We only get six runners before scratches in the Big Bear going a mile on the dirt. No. 5 Dortmund makes his first start since the Preakness and looks odds on with these. 5

Race 9

We get maiden 2yo traveling a mile on the grass. No. 10 British Bulldog will need a good trip but off his last is the one to beat and Mike Smith sticks around for the ride. No. 11 Aztec Warrior is a first time starter by Kitten’s Joy who will love the grass but is also stuck on the outside but he gets Bejarano who will work out a trip. 10-11

GOLDEN GATE

Race 1

No. 5 Steve Bilko, no relation to the Sarge, gets his second start off the layoff and looks set for the maiden breaker with the drop to this level. No. 6 Pecos Breeze is in from Emerald Downs off a better then looked first effort. 5-6

Race 2

No. 3 She’s Flush has a big last work and gets a top jock today No. 4 Runfasterelse gets her first start off the Jack Steiner claim and he hits at 47% first off the claim. No. 1 Chilada gets her first off the claim and gets a huge move back up the class ladder but has beaten better in the past, she is working great and will be the speed on the rail. 1-3-4

Race 3

No. 6 Wellington Beauty looks the mare to beat with the move to 5-1/2 furlongs and that last work says she is on go. 6

Race 4

No. 4 Nevaeh’s Promise comes back to town and gets a big time drop in class. No. 1 Saint Lemone may find herself on the front end. 1-4

Race 5

No. 4 Underwrite drops trying to cash and may have found his level. The same can be said about No. 5 Bananappeal who exits the same race. No. 7 Sibernation drops and goes long for the first time off a bullet work. 4-5-7

Race 6

No. 3 Tizmiss gets back to a sprint, she will be making a late run trying to run down No. 4 Ms. K J. 3-4

Race 7

No. 1 Seeking Asylum has won two of his three starts here with a second and Ricardo Gonzalez was on him in all three. No. 7 Percy’s Bluff is in good form and may like it here. No. 4 Exotic Slew drops and will be the one they will need to fear late. 1-4-7

Race 8

No. 3 Tall and Sweet is in from Santa Anita for Hollendorfer and looks spotted for the win. No. 8 No More Twinkies is the speed. No. 11 Heat the Rocks is the other Hollendorfer in the race, she gets off the grass and a turn back in distance and will be flying late. 3-8-11

Race 9

No. 3 Inner City gets a little drop in class, he has a good last work and will find a good pace to run at. No. 5 Pick by the Box looks the one to beat at this level. 3-5
