Saber’s Santa Anita Analysis

Race 1 

California-bred maidens go 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf. No. 4 Count Alexei will gun from the bell looking to take this wire to wire. No. 1 Master Ryan will track looking to pounce down the lane. 4-1 

Race 2 

$25K claimers go six furlongs. No. 2 Lionite drops in class and gets back on the dirt looking for the win. No. 3 Oil Can Knight gets wheeled back in in seven days. No. 5 Horse Greedy is a John Sadler re-claim and the stablemate of Lionite. 2-3-5 

Race 3 

Maiden 2-year-olds travel a flat mile. We get a small field of five in here and that leads us to single No. 1 Parnelli who will look to take this field wire-to-wire on the stretch out. 1** 

Race 4 

California-bred 2-year-old maiden fillies go 5 1/2 furlongs. No. 10 Squared Shady gets her second start off a nice even try. No. 6 Careless Star gets jockey Tyler Baze up for her second start and exits the same last race as Squared Shady. No. 9 Dylan’s Wild Cat also exits the race. 10**-6-9 

Race 5 

$40K 3-year-old fillies travel a flat mile on the grass. No. 3 Columbian Gold has had some tough luck in her last two races as she lost both by a neck. No. 4 A G Indy gets her second start off the layoff and owns dangerous early speed. 4-3 

Race 6 

California bred maidens go 6 1/2 furlongs. No. 1 Lil Richards Bello just missed last out. No. 2 Zero Down had a big last work for this and comes off a troubled trip last out. No. 5 Arickaree had a nice try first out and if he moves forward he will win. 5**-1-2 

Race 7 

$40K fillies and mares go 5 1/2 furlongs on the grass. No. 7 Miss Flawless will be making a big late run. No. 3 Majestic Gigi will be out winging it on the front end with the hot-riding Juan Hernandez riding. 3-7 

Race 8 

$40K optional fillies and mares travel a flat mile. No. 2 Velvet Queen stretches back out and gets jockey Flavien Prat riding in what looks like the money run. No. 3 Beguiled will be making a big late run. 3**-2 

Race 9 

$32K claimers travel a flat mile on the grass. No. 3 Shadow Sphinx is on a win-every-other-race pattern and this is his win race. No. 8 Honos Man gets his first start off the Peter Miller claim. No. 10 Southern King is the stablemate of Honos Man. 3-8-10 

Race 10 

$12,500 claimers go 6 1/2 furlongs. No. 3 Jan’s Reserve gets jockey Flavien Prat riding on the class drop. No. 7 Black Storm gets jockey Tyler Baze in the irons for trainer Jeff Mullins. No. 10 Fabozzi drops into a live spot. 3-7-10
