SANTA ANITA

Race 1

THE $200K GRADE 2 MARATHON AT 1-3/4

At times No. 1 Itsinthepost can come up with big efforts in marathon races. No. 5 Campaign will find a fast early pace to set up his late run but his odds will be small. No. 6 Brave Nation will off some value from off the pace. 1-5-6

Race 2

$40k optional fillies and mares travel a mile on the grass. No. 4 Opus Won is in tip top form for Richard Baltas. No. 8 Zuzanna is back in town and Kent Desormeaux is back on her, she will be making a late run at a square price. No. 11 Tiger Silk makes her first stateside start for Richard Mandella, she may like it here. 4-8-11

Race 3

THE $200K GOLDEN STATE JUVENILE FOR 2YO GOING 7 FURLONGS

No. 8 Bulletproof One looks the one to beat, she has run just one bad race. No. 11 Been Studying Her was last seen in the Grade 1 Chandlier vs. some runners in the Breeders’ Cup. No. 12 Smiling Shirlee will like this distance and just may get a piece from off the pace. 11-8-12

Race 4

THE $200K GOLDEN STATE JUVENILE AT 7 FURLONGS

Trainer Brad Cox brings in No. 8 Ulysses from Keeneland, this 2yo is very live and at 8-1 on the morning line we will give him a big shot. No. 11 Square Deal gets off the grass and back to his correct surface.

8**-11

KEY PLAY

WIN AND PLACE 8 AND EXACTA BOX 8-11

Race 5

THE $1 MILLION BC JUVENILE TURF SPRINT AT FIVE FURLONGS

No. 5 Encoder is 15-1 on the morning line, he won in his only try sprinting on the grass, he comes off of back-to-back mile turn races and will be making a big late run. No. 9 Four Wheel Drive is the one to beat at a short price. No. 12 Cambria is the other price play in this race. She is the stablemate of Four Wheel Drive and comes off a big win at Kentucky Downs and has won all three of her starts. Can she beat the boys? 5-9-12

Race 6

THE $1 MILLION BC JUVENILE TURF AT A MILE

No. 13 Fort Myers is in from Ireland for trainer Aiden O’Brien, at 12-1 we will be using. No. 12 Arizona is the stablemate of Fort Myers and the 5/2 chalk. No. 2 Structor comes in for Chad Brown off a nice win in the Grade 3 Pilgrim. 13-12-2

Race 7

THE $2 MILLION JUVENILE FILLIES AT 1-1/16

No. 7 Wicked Whisper has done nothing wrong in her two starts with her last win coming in the Grade 1 Frizette. No. 4 British Idiom will be sitting off the pace and making her run turning for home, she will be very tough in this spot. No. 3 Perfect Alibi is the price play as she exits the same last race as British Idiom.

7-4-3

Race 8

THE $1 MILLION JUVENILE FILLY TURF

We like to see jockey William Buick in these BC races and he is on No. 5 Daahyeh, this filly has run five times with 3 wins and 2 seconds, bet her to cash. No. 7 Crystalle and No. 8 Tango are both price plays and both must be used. 5-7-8

Race 9

THE $2 MILLION JUVENILE AT 1-1/16

No. 1 Dennis Moment will be most bettors’ single. He is one serious race horse and has been working a hole in the wind, even money most likely. No. 6 Eight Rings says not so fast, I can run also and J R Velazquez is riding for Bob Baffert. The price play in here is No. 5 Scabbard with Mike Smith riding, he would love to beat Baffert in this race. 1-6-5

Race 10

Optional $40k runners travel seven furlongs. No. 1 Rogallo just missed last out going six furlongs when closing fast, Joel Rosario will look to get him home on top. No. 2 Candy Cornell finished just a head behind Rogallo in that race. No. 3 Heartfullofstars was just a length behind Candy Cornell and he gets a rider upgrade. No. 6 Caray was also in the race, he came back next out sprinting on the grass and ran a solid second, he will be the speed. 1**-2*-3-6
