SANTA ANITA

Race 1

$16k fillies and mares go 5-1/2 furlongs. Doug O’Neill is winning at a .27% rate and jockey Abel Cedillo is having a big meet so far with seven wins. The two hook up with No. 4 Marrazano and the blinkers come off on the drop down, with little to beat we will single in the early pick five. 4**

Race 2

$10k runners travel a flat mile on the main. No. 2 Smokin B just could be a good price in this field, he owns two lifetime wins and both came here. He will sit off a hot pace and make one late run. No. 4 Bellerin is the one to beat on the big drop in class, he has 3 wins from 4 starts here and all at this mile distance. No. 7 Bitter Ring Home also likes this track and drops in class. 4-7-2

Race 3

$50k maidens travel a mile on the grass. No. 4 Speakerofthehouse dropped to this level in his last start and just missed. No. 5 Go for a Ride drops from straight maiden races and takes the blinkers off. No. 10 Fay Dan gets the white flag by Bob Baffert, as he gives up on this $400k purchase. 4-5-10

Race 4

$50k starter allowance fillies and mares go six furlongs. No. 3 Claudelle comes off a gigantic win last out, she is the lone speed in here. No. 1 Jaccat has finished second in back-to-back starts at this level.

3-1

Race 5

2yo maiden fillies go 5-1/2 furlongs. Flavien Prat gets on the Richard Baltas first time starter No. 1 Richies Noble Girl, she has a nice last work. Baffert sends out No. 4 Crazy Speighty off back-to-back nice five furlong works. He also sends out No. 7 Map Maker with his go to rider Drayden Van Dyke riding. No. 9 Roadrunner’s Honor is a very live first timer for Doug O’Neill with a bullet last work. 1-4-7-9

Race 6

2yo maiden fillies travel a flat mile on the dirt. No. 1 Gingham lost at .50 cents on the dollar last out for Baffert. Mike Smith who rode her in that race opts for No. 2 Overjoyed for Neil Drysdale, she gets off the grass. No. 3 Paige Anne exits the same race as Gingham, she is the speed. 1-2-3

THE $100K CALIFORNIA DISTAFF AT 5-1/2 FURLONGS ON THE GRASS

No. 1 S Y Sky has run 15 times and hit the board in all 15, she has two wins and a second sprinting on the grass at Del Mar. No. 5 Don’t Sell just won the Unzip Me at this turf distance and is a perfect 3 for 3 sprinting on this turf course. No. 6 Just Grazed Me is the stablemate of S Y Sky, she finished right behind her in the Daiseycutter at Del Mar. She has run eight times in her career and hit the board in all eight starts. 1-5-6

Race 8

Maiden fillies and mares travel a mile on the main. No. 2 Shear Class looked like she wanted longer in her first start when running on late to finish 3rd, she looks set for a big effort. No. 6 Unicorn finished second in her first three starts, all on the grass and then lost her jockey last out. Prat who rode her that day says that’s ok he will ride again.
