Saber’s Santa Anita analysis for Sunday

Race 1 

It’s closing day at Santa Anita and we start with the $75K Siren Lure at 5 1/2 furlongs on the grass. No. 1 Torosay had his prep and now the blinkers come off. No. 4 Sparky Ville was very unlucky to lose last out in the Grade 3 Daytona by the shortest of noses. 1-4 

Race 2 

$40K optional claimers travel a flat mile on the grass. No. 7 Factorial will be the speed on the stretch out. No. 6 Bud Knight will sit chilly off the fast pace and make one run. No. 3 Salvator Mundi looks live off the layoff. 7-6-3 

Race 3 

2-year-old maidens go 4 1/2 furlongs. No. 1 Girther has been working like a runner. No. 2 Dr. Schivel owns a huge work for his debut race. No. 6 Bordeaux Red makes his first start for trainer Keith Desormeaux who just popped with a 2-year-old first timer last week. 2-**-6-1 

Race 4 

California bred maiden fillies and mares go 5 1/2 furlongs on the grass. No. 4 Ole Silver will like the move to a grass sprint off a better-than-looked effort sprinting on the dirt in her debut race. No. 12 Bella Chica is the filly to beat off her last on this on this course. 12-4 

Race 5 

$25K fillies and mares go six furlongs. No. 3 Your Royal Coil looks set in this her second start off the layoff and blinkers off. No. 6 Remember to Smile exits the same last race as Your Royal Coil. No. 1 Miss Bennet will be making a late run. 3-6-1 

Race 6 

The $100K Grade 3 San Juan Capistrano at 1 3/4 miles on the grass. No. 6 Ward’n Jerry is in top form and can get the trip. No. 4 Siberian Iris looks the danger with jockey Drayden Van Dyke back on board today. 8**-4 

Race 7 

The $150K Melair for California bred 3-year-old fillies traveling 1 1/16 miles. No. 1 Big Sweep just won the $150 Echo Eddie sprinting six furlongs. No. 2 Smiling Shirlee just won the $150K Evening Jewel also sprinting. No. 6 Warren’s Showtime will sit back off the pace and make one run. 1-2-6 

Race 8 

$40K maiden fillies and mares travel a flat mile on the grass. Jockey Flavien Prat and trainer Richard Baltas hook up with No. 10 Danceformunny who drops from straight maiden races. No. 3 Wine at Sunset looks to be coming around and this looks to be a good spot for her. No. 2 Arya’s Dagger will go better after a troubled trip last out in her debut race. 10-3-2 

Race 9 

$50K maiden fillies and mares go 6 1/2 furlongs. We really need to hit the all button in this race. Trainer Richard Baltas sends out the uncoupled entry of No. 1 Cosmic Cowgirl and No. 2 True Mischief as both take class drops. No. 5 Apache Pass will wake up as she drops and moves to a dirt sprint. 1-2-5 

Race 10 

The $100K Grade 3 American traveling a flat mile on the grass. Mike Smith jumps on No. 3 Cleopatra’s Strike who comes off of back to back seconds vs better. No. 5 Sharp Samurai comes off the layoff and missed by a neck in this race last year. No. 8 Bowie’s Hero also looks live for this off the layoff. 3-5-8 

Race 11 

Maiden fillies and mares go 6 1/2 furlongs. Trainer Bob Baffert and jockey Mike Smith hook up with No. 2 Provocation who cost $350K. No. 5 Himiko is the stablemate of Provocation and gets jockey Abel Cedillo riding in this her second start. No. 7 Scarlet Lips gets back to a dirt sprint with jockey Flavien Prat riding for trainer Peter Miller. 2-5-7 

Race 12 

$40K optional claimers travel a flat mile on the grass. No. 3 Of Good Report missed by a nostril last out at this level and distance on the grass. No. 4 Go Daddy Go and No. 7 Five Star Lynch both exit the same last race as Of GoodReport. No. 10 Turn the Switch also exits the race and cannot be dismissed at a big price. 3***-4-7-10
