DEL MAR

Race 1

We will go with the two in the same maiden race Bob Baffert angle as he sends out No. 1 Grove Park and No. 3 Tweebster, both of whom exit the same race. The Tweebster has been a real money burner of late but is still highly regarded by Baffert and maybe the cool ocean air will get him home. 1-3

Race 2

We will take our shot and single No. 5 Mary Strong in the early pick four, she gets a major rider upgrade to Bejarano and this 7 furlong distance will be right up her alley and the price will be a good one with a top jock riding. 5

Race 3

No. 4 Amina has been on fire since returning from her long layoff and she will now give the grass a try. No. 8 Sister Dawn just did miss by a head in her one and only on the green and that 5 furlong work on July 15th signals her readiness. 4-8

Race 4

In a race where none of the ones that have met the starter look like they can or want to win we will take another big shot and go with the only first time starter No. 5 Sanzilla, this 3yo filly looks ready to run for trainer Craig Lewis. No. 8 Holloween Candy has big early speed but has failed in her four starts and all as the big chalk, we will use just in case as her best race was here last year when she lost by a nose and jockey Rosario was aboard that day and he re-rides today. 5-8

No. 4 Porto Marmay finds a field loaded with speed and she will be picking up all the pieces late, she has won two times going this distance. 1-4

Race 6

No. 3 Comma To The Top drops back to a maiden claimer and will show all of his speed today at this 5½ furlong distance, No. 5 What’s The Rumpus is a first time starter out of the Doug O’Neill barn his Dam has dropped four winners from six starters including one stakes winner. 3-5

Race 7

No. 2 Low Gear Power exits our HTW list and comes off a rousing win off a long layoff, if he don’t bounce this 4yo gelding will repeat. No. 3 Scorpion Time won on this course last year almost a year to the day, can history repeat? 2-3

Race 8

No. 5 Go Lourdes Go drops in class, exits a good race and now gets the services of Bejarano who rides for Victor Garcia, No. 6 Sexy Melody ran good in her one and only, if she can move forward off of that effort she will be right there. 5-6
