Fairgrounds, Race 9: $10K Louisiana breds go a mile on the dirt and we think this race is ripe for a boxcar winner as we look to beat No. 6 Lassie’s Last Hour, who at 3-1 on the morning line looks the logical winner off her last start here sprinting 5½ furlongs. This will be her first try going long.
No. 7 Double Red is listed at 10-1 on the morning line and we think that could even go higher and we will take a shot with this lightly raced 3-year-old filly as she goes long for the first time. She should love the longer trip and could explode the tote today. No. 2 Sheza Mean Broad has run O.K. in her two sprint races and has been well bet in both of those races.
Today’s play: Win and place No. 7 and Exacta box 2-6-7
