Cinderella teams like the Saint Peter’s Peacocks make for some of the best storylines during March Madness. Few things are as exciting as following a team with no business making a deep run in the NCAA Tournament doing just that. There is one thing potentially more exciting than just watching a Cinderella team advance through March Madness — betting on that team.

Saint Peter’s has made some money for those fortunate enough to have already bet on them. But the trick with Cinderella teams is knowing when the ride is over. Of course, if you hop off the bandwagon too soon, you could miss out on another good payout.

Saint Peter’s March Madness Odds

When will the music stop for this year’s Cinderella? When should you stop betting on the Peacocks? Let’s take a look at their odds against Purdue, to make the Final Four, and to win it all:

Saint Peter’s vs. Purdue Point Spread and Moneyline

The Peacocks’ next song in the Big Dance is queued up for Friday night at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Purdue is a double-digit favorite in the game (-12.5), and while the St. Peter’s moneyline is not as long as it was against Kentucky (+1600 at DraftKings ), the +650 offered at Caesars implies just a 13.33% chance of winning the game. St. Peter’s was just +330 (Tipico) against Murray State game.

If you want to take the Peacocks to win outright, you’ll want to take advantage of the super boost at Caesars (Saint Peter’s to win vs. Purdue: +1000; max bet of $25).

Saint Peter’s Odds To Make Final Four: +3000 (BetMGM)

Not only will they have to figure out how to beat Purdue, but the Peacocks will also have to get past either UCLA or North Carolina in the Elite Eight to dance all the way to New Orleans for the Final Four. While history says it won’t happen (no team seeded lower than No. 11 has made the Final Four since the tournament expanded in 1985), they should not have beaten Kentucky or Murray State, either.

But Purdue will bring its A-game and send Cinderella home, right?

Eh, maybe not. In four of the Boilermakers’ seven losses this season, they made less than 27 percent from three-point range. Saint Peter’s happens to have the 16th best three-point defense in the country. So, there is a chance the Peacocks could limit the Boilermakers from behind the arc.

If they can, it becomes a little easier to see Saint Peter’s becoming the first No. 15 seed to make the Elite Eight. Of course, beating UCLA or North Carolina to get into the Final Four and cash this ticket is a whole other battle. However, when you consider the dragons the Peacocks have slain to get to the Elite Eight, what’s one more?

Saint Mary’s Odds To Win National Championship: +35,000 (FanDuel)

If you are willing to bet on Saint Peter’s to make the Final Four, then you can probably imagine a scenario where they win it all. The competition they’d face in the national semifinals, of course, would not get any easier, as the top four seeds are all alive in the Sweet 16, nor would it the championship game.

Saint Peter’s has proven it can overcome the odds. That doesn’t mean this unlikely run will continue for four more games, but when you consider $10 could win you $3,500, that sounds like fun bet to make.
