$8k fillies and mares go a flat mile on the dirt. No. 3 Frandontjudge just missed by a notril at this level in her last start at Los Al. No. 5 Smil’n From Above is not big on winning she could just get there on the stretchout and she does own a win at this distance and has a good last work. After those two we need to hit the all button. 3-5
$25k claimers go 1-1/16 on the dirt and this race is not much better than the first. No. 4 Carlsbad Mountain gets back to his claimed level and if able to sneak clear on the front end he has been known to get very brace. No. 5 Indygo Bo keeps Kent D and he will be trying to run down Carlsbad Mt. No. 6 Peyton is the stablemate of Carlsbad and gets a big drop in class. 4-5-6
$50k 3yo fillies go 6-1/2 furlongs on the dirt. No. 1 Skye Diamonds comes off a nice win and the $40k claim by Bill Spawr, her only problem is that she never wins back to back races. No. 3 Star of Munster is a 3 time winner here and looks the speed of the speed on the drop. No. 2 Brookes All Mine goes sprint-route-sprint and this trainer is very good with this move hitting at .40%. 1-2-3
THE $100K CALIFORNIA FLAG GOING DOWN THE HILL
No. 1 Richard’s Boy is a real fighter and a two time winner going down the hill. No. 3 Boozer is a four time winner going down the hill but that last work is puzzling to say the least and he could be overbet. 1**-3
2yo maidens go six furlongs in the last leg of the pick five. Interesting that Kent D gets on No. 3 Absolutely Stylish a first time starter for Eddie Truman since his brother Keith sends out a first timer in the race No. 1 Moonman. Bejarano gets on the Baffert first timer No. 4 Mastery a $425k purchase. No. 8 Sheer Flattery ran big first out for Hollendorfer and is a must use with the hot riding Arroyo taking over.
We now get maiden 2yo going down the hill. No. 8 I’m Living Proof is very well bred for the grass and will be a nice price. No. 10 Higly Acclaimed showed good early speed in his first two races on the dirt, he gets a great post today and Talamo fits. This one is very wide open so don’t take a short price. 8-10
They carded a six furlong starter handicap race here for horses that have started for a claiming price of $10k or less. No. 1 Madelyn’s Wild Max comes as a re-claim and her last win came for a $25k price tag. No. 4 Royal F J also comes off the claim and exits the same race as Madelyn. No. 8 Swiss Cheese exits our HTW list and is in good form. 1-4-8
Down the hill they go and No. 1 Moonlight Drive gets a big drop in class and a turnback in distance, he looks the one to beat albeit at a short price. No. 8 Eric the Trojan is on a win everyother race pattern and this is his win race and he also gets Prat back on and he was on this gelding for both of his last two wins.
No. 11 Pop Pop’s Pizza comes off the layoff for D’Amato if able to run back to his last two races befor the layoff he beats these. We will gamble that D’Amato has him ready to fire and we will single him. 11
