SANTA ANITA

Race 1

We will start this day off with a great single. This 1-1/8 turf route is loaded with early speed. No. 6 LAZZAM looks the only closer and Nakatani gets back on, he was on this 5yo gelding one race back for the win at this exact distance. 6

WIN AND PLACE 6

Race 2

This is one bad $20k maiden claimer for fillies and mares 4yo and up. No. 4 Yalla at least has shown some run. No. 5 Empire Zone gets just her second start and drops in class and gets the bug Asa Espinoza. No. 7 Dressed In Prada has hit the board in five of her six starts here. 7-5-4

Race 3

No. 4 Tough It Out drops back down to the $16k level where he just missed one race back. No. 5 Orejas gets the bug girl Maria Falgione getting a shot to ride for Baltas who had Laura  Werner on for the win back in January. No. 6 Mercer Island is in top form and the one to beat on the move up. 6-5-4

Race 4

No. 8 Downtowner did not take to the wet track in his first start, he gets a dry track and Van Dyke today. No. 9 Momma’s Baby Boy lost by a nostril last out at this distance but that last work is a concern. 8**-9

Race 5

We need to go four deep in the last leg of the early pick five and the first leg of the late pick four using No. 4 Samdar with Van Dyke getting on today for Baffert. No. 5 Camps Bay who ran ok in his first try going down the hill and now stretches out. No. 9 Formal Dude who looks to wake up as he makes his first start as a gelding and gets the hard trying Geovanni Franco up for D’Amato and No. 10 Sellwood who also comes off a good try in his first start down the hill. 4-5-9-10

Race 6

No. 6 Gemini Journey gets Bejarano back on today and the drop to this level will help her chances. No. 7 C. C. Zipp is the speed, she comes off a win vs. better but Roman sticks, the price will be short. No. 8 Conquest Flatterme also drops and could loom a danger at this level. 7**-6-8

Race 7

No. 2 Miz Tianjin blasted home when she got her first try on a fast dirt track, winning by 12 lengths. No. 8 Pasadena Princess looks perfectly spotted off the nice maiden breaker at .90 cents on the dollar.

2-8

Race 8

No. 10 Battleground State will find the perfect pace scenario here as she will sit and pounce turning for home. The main danger is stuck on the also list No. 12 Speakers who is the main one if she can draw in.

10*-12** (ALSO).

Race 9

No. 2 Optic gets a big drop in class and will wake up at this level, he gets blinkers on and makes his first start as a gelding. No. 9 Fabrication can win if he can duplicate his race one back. No. 11 Lolly Express looks live at first asking as Bejarano rides for Mike Puype. 9-2-11
