SANTA ANITA
Race 1
No. 1 Imminent drops to her lowest level, her early speed will play well at this level. They will need to catch her as Martin Pedroza will be gunning from the bell. No. 7 Meritocracy also drops and will be right on the tail of the front runner. 1-7
Race 2
No. 2 Imperial Creed lost all chance at the start in her last race but close strong to be a good 3rd. No. 3 Vegas Strong Baby exits the same race, she finished second and owns a nice last work for the hot combo of Flavien Prat / Richard Baltas. 3-2
Race 3
We get $20k maiden fillies and mares 4yo and up going 5-1/2 furlongs. No. 5 Whata Flirt is wheeled back in just seven days by Doug O’Neill off a nose loss when getting bobbed on the line for a $30k price tag. He looks to have these over a barrel, it looks like a now or never spot for Whata Flirt. 5**
Race 4
If the rains are gone this race is set to go at a mile on the grass. There is little to no early speed in here and that could get No. 1 Englander on the front end, if so he could get very brave. No. 3 Arch Anthem exits the same last race. 1-3
Race 5
Cal bred starter allowance fillies and mares 4yo and up go six furlongs. No. 3 Li’l Grazen will get the perfect setup by her stablemate No. 2 We Will Re Joyce who will be out setting a blistering pace.
3**-2
Race 6
$6,250 fillies and mares 4yo and up go 5-1/2 furlongs. No. 5 Hero for Hire gets a break in the weights with the bug boy Figueroa getting up for Jeff Bonde. With the weight break she should be able to take these wire-to-wire. No. 2 She’sluckythatway is a two time winner here and the one to fear late. 5**-2
Race 7
No. 1 Ground Attack ran second last out and the winner came back to score again next out. We love the last 7 furlong work which looks to have him set. No. 2 California Journey exits the same last race. 1**-2
WIN AND PLACE 1
Race 8
Starter allowance runners set to go a mile on the grass we hope the rain is gone. No. 2 North County Guy has been running down the hill in his last two races with a win and a 5th just losing by less than two lengths. He has the looks of a runner who will like this mile distance and if it comes off the grass he can win on the main. No. 4 Kristi’s Copilot is the stablemate of the North County Guy, he gets his second start off the claim and this trainer hits at .43% second off the claim. Joel Rosario will ride. 4**-2
CHECK THOSE TURF RACES AND CHECK FOR LATE SCRATCHES.
