SANTA ANITA

Race 1

Fillies and mares 4yo and up travel a mile on the grass. No. 5 Radish exits our HTW list, she is still a maiden who has lost 24 starts but has won almost $200k. She just missed last out going down the hill when losing to a runner by the name of Smiling Annie and now today she will need to deal with No. 2 Moonshine Annie who also just lost down the hill. 2-5

Race 2

$32k 3yo fillies go 5-1/2 furlongs. No. 1 Bam Bams Lil River is on a win every other race pattern and this is her win race. No. 5 Hot Rod Gal gets off the grass and will be tough at this level. 5-1

Race 3

$20k starter allowance runners 4yo and up travel a mile on the grass. No. 2 Tough It Out gets his second start off the John Sadler claim and we like the hard trying Brice Blanc riding. No. 6 Tigerbeach is a very consistent runner and a must use in the exotics. No. 9 Kristi’s Copilot owns a big last work and just missed here last out. 9*-6-2

Race 4

$35k runners 4yo and up go 5-1/2 furlongs. No. 1 Short of Ez has a good last work for this. No. 6 Buckys Pick makes his first start off the $35k Doug O’Neill claim. He gets a big jock switch to Flavien Prat his stablemate Royal Trump just missed by a nostril last out. 7-6-1

Race 5

THE $200K GRADE II LAS VIRGENES AT A MILE ON THE DIRT

The beautiful No. 3 Bellafina comes off a win in the Grade II Santa Yanez, she is a perfect 2 for 2 on this course. No. 2 Enaya Alrabb and No. 4 Mother Mother look to have the best shot at beating her.

3**-2-4

Race 6

We get $8k fillies and mares 4yo and up going 6 furlongs. Geovanni Franco gets the call on No. 8 Eskenforadrink who is a perfect fit at this level. No. 10 A Filly Can Dream is in from Turf Paradise and looks very sneaky getting off the grass. 8**-10

Win and place 8 and exacta box 8-10

THE $100K THUNDER ROAD AT ONE MILE ON THE GRASS

No. 1 River Boyne just won the Grade II Makers Mile here at odds on, he looks to be that price again. No. 4 Desert Stone exits our HTW list and was just a head back of River Boyne in the Makers Mile, Joel Rosario will look to get him home on top today. 4**-1

Exacta box 1-4 and win and place 4

Race 8

Optional $80k 3yo go 6-1/2 furlongs on the main. No. 8 Much Better gets some class relief and a needed confidence builder, his last three works say he is on GO! We will single in the late pick four. 8***

Race 9

THE $200K GRADE II SAN MARCOS AT 1-1/4 ON THE GRASS

No. 3 Chicago Style is in tip top form and always gives his best. No. 5 Platinum Warrior has won at this distance in Ireland and exits the same race as Chicago Style. No. 6 Sejo is the stablemate of Platinum Warrior and is in from France where he was running marathon races on the grass. Prat will ride. No. 7 Dabster who was scratched last week for this race looks the speed, he ran right behind Battle of Midway last out and that runner won next out. No. 8 Beach View also exits the Dabster race. 3-5-6-7-8

$16k claimers 4yo and up go 5-1/2 furlongs. No. 3 Crazy Uncle Rick takes a big class drop. No. 5 Saratoga Morning gets his first start off the $25k O’Neill claim. Why the drop? The one time No. 8 Shifty Dancer ran on the dirt he won. No. 9 Honeymoonz Over also drops. 3-5-8-9
