SANTA ANITA

Race 1

Tread carefully today as it’s Friday the 13th and we start today with a $20k claimer for 3yo at six furlongs. No. 2 Blazingulch finds a much better spot on the drop and Pedroza who was aboard for the big maiden score gets back on today. No. 4 Tchula Sunset exits the same race and gets the hard trying Contreras.

2-4

Race 2

No. 1 Blanket of Ice is the speed on the rail in this $16k claimer for 4yo and up at a flat mile. No. 6 Afleet Domination will sit in the back of the pace and launch a big late run. 1-6

Race 3

$50k maiden 3yo go a mile on the dirt. No. 2 Orejas was well bet in his one start at Del Mar but broke slow and never was able to get into the race, he drops to this level and its good to see that Prat sticks. No. 3 Royal Seeker ran huge here back in October and if able to repeat that effort he wins. 2-3

Race 4

$25k fillies and mares go 7 furlongs. No. 2 Basie Boots finds a very soft group and will wake up in this spot. No. 6 Albeit will love this distance and is the one to beat. 2-6

Race 5

$40k optional claiming fillies and mares go 1-1/16. No. 3 That’s a Lady just missed by a dwindling neck going a mile here at this level back in October. No. 5 Lady Tapit exits a key race and is a must use.

3-5

Race 6

No. 3 Aristocratic exits our HTW list and is the key player in this race off his very good second first out when well meant for Bob Baffert. He has been moved to the barn of Doug O’Neill along with many other Kaleem horses. We will key on him using No. 2 Invasion Looming who exits the same race and No. 5 My Man Chuckles his stablemate who is out of the dam Top Marks who has dropped 7 winners from 7 starters and owns a big last work. 3**-2-7

Key exacta box 3 with 2-7

Race 7

This is scheduled to be run down the hill but more rain was expected so we will have two sets of selections. First the turf we will use No. 1 Beau Recall who is in from Ireland for Callaghan. No. 4 Beautiful Becca who just broke her maiden down the hill and No. 8 Hot in the City who broke her maiden first out of the box going 5 furlongs on the Del Mar grass. If this comes off the grass we will use No. 5 Miss Sunset who is a perfect 2 for 2 on the dirt and No. 7 Tapped who has been facing much stronger runners.

TURF 1-4-8——DIRT 5-7

Race 8

$20k maidens four and up go 5-1/2 furlongs. No. 3 Pop Pop’s Pizza gets his 3rd off the layoff and looks to be sitting on a good run today. No. 5 Dixie Ballet is a first time starter out of the dam Desert Ballet who has dropped 5 winners from 5 starters. 3-5
