SANTA ANITA
Race 1
My suggestion is we better watch a few races and just see how this new track is playing on the dirt. We start the day with $25k maiden 3yo fillies going a mile. No. 4 Lily Con is the speed, so we will get a quick look on how the speed is holding. No. 7 Tick Tock will be in a tracking spot so if Lily packs it in she will get the first jump. 4-7
Race 2
We gets fillies and mares 4yo and up going a mile on the grass. No. 6 Tiny Tina gets back to her winning distance one race back. No. 7 Sweet Connie Girl is in from Florida for trainer Anna Meah and jockey Israel Ocampo will ride. 6-7
Race 3
In what is a wide open six furlong $12,500 claimer we will opt for No. 4 Giddymeister who just ran a good 3rd six days ago at Golden Gate. If he runs he should beat this crew. 4
Race 4
Down the hill they go and No. 7 SWIRLING exits our HTW list. She has run one bad race and that was a puzzler. 7
WIN AND PLACE 7
Race 5
We get a field of ten 3yo first time starters and the first thing we do is look for a Bob Baffert runner. He sends out No. 7 Rafal with Drayden Van Dyke up, his last work says he is on go. No. 3 Gate Speed just blazed a bullet here on the 22nd when best of 60 runners that day. 7-3
Race 6
$40k optional claimers go a mile on the main. No. 1 He Will just missed last out when having a tough rail trip. No. 4 Super Duper Cooper comes off a good second last out and now gets his first start off the Richard Baltas claim. He hits at .28% first off the claim. No. 8 Shane Zain is the stablemate of Super Duper Cooper.
1**-4-8
Race 7
THE $200K GRADE II SAN LUIS REY AT 1-1/2 ON THE GRASS
We will use the runners out of the San Marcos race that was run here on February 9th: No. 1 Epical who finished second, No. 3 Unapologetic was midpack but will go better today and No. 4 Beach View the 3rd place finisher. 1-3-4
Race 8
The last race of the day is a $25k maiden claimer. No. 3 Far West looks live at first asking as he is out of the dam Street Talk who has dropped 3 winners from 3 starters and owns a nice last work. No. 5 Why Not Us drops back to the level of his good second at this distance one race back. No. 7 Outlaw drops from a straight maiden race and looks the one to beat. 5-7-3
GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE HORSES, TRAINERS AND JOCKEYS
