SANTA ANITA

Race 1

No. 3 Spy Ring is the speed in this 1-1/8 turf route and if left alone she could get very brave, Joel Rosario jumps on No. 6 Lemoona who was last seen running in the Grade 3 La Canada, she has been working very good. No. 8 Tell Me More is in tip-top form and has never been off the board here on this turf course. 3-6-8

Race 2

THE $200K EVENING JEWEL AT 6-1/2 FURLONGS

No. 5 Lippy has hit the board in all five of her lifetime starts. No. 6 Sneaking Out owns two wins and a second from her three starts. No. 9 Dr Wysong won his last with easy when exiting our HTW list, she is well regarded by Philip D’Amato. 5-6-9

Race 3

THE $400K GRADE 1 SANTA ANITA OAKS AT 1-1/16

No. 2 Chasing Yesterday will need to be at her best to beat No. 6 Bellafina, it’s a two-filly race…2-6

Race 4

Like the fact that No. 3 Italiano becomes claim proof first off his $50k Steven Miyadi claim and he puts the good bug boy J.C. Diaz Jr. back on. No. 5 Aced looked great winning first off the layoff last out, bet him to cash. No. 6 Cats Blame gets off the grass and will be tough getting back on the dirt. No. 9 Captivate is in top form and gets Drayden Van Dyke back on, he won with this horse one back at this level. 5**-9*-3-6

Race 5

THE $200K GRADE 2 ROYAL HEROINE AT A MILE ON THE GRASS

No. 1 Vasilika is one tough mare who has won 9 of her 10 races here at Santa Anita with one second, she will be a short price once again. No. 5 Raven’s Lady is the unknown runner in from over the pond, her last work was a pip! 1-5

Race 6

THE $200K ECHO EDDIE AT 6-1/2 FURLONGS

No. 6 Foster Boi really looked good when breaking his maiden first out on the grass at even money. If he takes to the dirt he can win right back and his running style plays well here, we will take our shot and single. 6

Race 7

Maiden 3yo travel a mile on the grass. No. 5 One Bad Boy will love the grass and this mile distance, his last work says yes. No. 7 Time Is Now took some action first out but may have not taken to the sloppy track, Mike Smith rides. No. 9 Ocean Fury ran good in his two starts last year, both going a mile on the grass, must give this colt a big shot and the price will be right. No. 12 Play Money was sent off at 6/5 first out for David Hofmans, he finished 4th after showing good early speed, he may be the speed in here.  5-7-9-12

THE $1 MILLION GRADE 1 SANTA ANITA DERBY AT 1-1/8

No. 6 Game Winner just ran too good to lose the Rebel last out when getting nosed, he is as game as they come. Bob Baffert also sends out No. 1 Roadster who will likely try and stay on the tail of No. 5 Instagrand who will try and take them wire-to-wire. 6****-5**-1

Race 9

THE $150K GRADE 3 PROVIDENCIA AT 1-1/8 ON THE GRASS FOR 3YO FILLIES

No. 2 Lady Prancealot got the needed confidence-building win last out. No. 3 Truffalino finished as game second right behind Lady Prancealot. No. 6 Colonial Creed owns good early speed and is the stablemate of Prancealot. No. 7 Maxim Rate exits or HTW list off a big win first out for Simon Callaghan who also sends out No. 8 Hostess who is in from over the pond where she ran some big races. Race 11

They go a mile on the grass to end this long and hopefully safe racing day. No. 7 Rumpus Cat exits out HTW list off a near miss last out down the hill, he gets back to his best distance and will find a fast early pace to make his late run, after him this race is very wide open. 7***
