SANTA ANITA

Race 1

No. 6 Moonshine Annie just missed one race back sprinting five furlongs on the grass at this level. She has little win spirit but could fall into the perfect spot here. No. 8 Sunrise Royale exits the same last race as Moonshine Annie. she gets her second try sprinting on the grass and Flavien Prat says he will give this filly a shot. 8**-6

Race 2

2yo maidens sprint 4 ½ furlongs. No. 3 Cal’s Gem got hammered in his one start, he showed good early speed and finished second. No. 6 Mickelson who is playing in the open today is also running in this spot, he is a first timer for the Desormeaux brothers. No. 5 Scoring is a first timer for Doug F O’Neill and Rafael Bejarano will ride. No. 8 Palace Prince is by the hot young sire Palace Malice and a must use. 3-5-6-8

Race 3

No. 3 Rayana won like a good thing first out for team Bob Baffert, she can repeat. No. 5 Kiana’s Love also won first out and exits a productive race. No. 7 Moreisbetter gets back on the grass where she just missed first out one race back. 3-5-7

Race 4

With all the early speed in  this six furlong sprint, we will be singling No. 2 Top Brass who becomes claim proof first off the Mark Glatt claim. He did not like the muddy track in his last start. He will find a fast early pace to make his late run and we like Joseph Talamo riding. 2***

WIN AND PLACE 2

Race 5

No. 5 All Star Cast just missed last out when Kent Desormeaux got on her, she looks ready for a boomer. No. 6 Strike At Dawn is in from Tampa Bay where she was trained by super trainer Chad Brown. She now lands in the barn of Richard Baltas. 5**-6

Race 6

No. 3 Rather Nosy is the key runner in this 6 ½ furlong sprint. We will key her first and second in exactas with No. 1 Smiling Rose, No. 5 Tapitha Bonita and No. 7 Convince. 3**-1-5-7

Race 7

THE $75K POSSIBLY PERFECT AT 1 ¼ ON THE GRASS FOR FILLIES AND MARES

No. 2 Pantsonfire has won 4 of her 8 starts on this turf course including her last in the Grade 3 Astra at 1 ½ on the grass. No. 6 Pulpit Rider may just like this longer trip and the price will be juicy. No. 7 Siberian Iris could also pop at a price. 2**-6-7

Race 8

THE $100K GRADE 3 AFFIRMED AT 1 1/16

Before scratches we have six runners lined up to run and three of the six are trained by Baffert who looks to have this race in his cross hairs. He sends out No. 4 Kingly, No. 5 Roadster and No. 6 Mucho Gusto. Of the three we prefer Mucho Gusto who is a perfect 2 for 2 on this course and owns a big time last work. 6***

Race 9

$50k maiden claimers travel a mile on the grass. No. 2 Mongolian Hero is the only first time starter, he just could be live in this so so field. No. 8 Boru is the speed but will be over bet once again and No. 10 Zorich is also speed but could get hung out to dry. If he can get a good trip he has a big shot. 2-8-10
