Race 1

Trainer Jonathan Wong brings in No. 4 Mercy Rule from up North as they want to run on this five furlong turf course. His last work was a pip and the bug boy Jose Leon will ride. No. 8 Seeking Refuge ran big on this course in his last start which was his first off the layoff and now Rafael Bejarano jumps on for Doug O’Neill.

Race 2

2yo Cal bred maiden fillies go 4-1/2 furlongs. No. 1 Unchain Her Heart had a big time work here on the 8th. No. 6 Vegan gets her 3rd start after finishing second in her first two. No. 7 Takes a Village looks the speed of the speed. 1-6-7

Race 3

Cal bred maidens travel a mile on the grass and we will use two runners exiting the same last race. No. 4 Jamming Eddy who gets Flavien Prat up today for Peter Miller and No. 8 No Parking Here who finished a closing second. 4-8

Race 4

No. 1 I Can Do This has been stuck in second in his last three races. Prat gets his second try with this gelding. No. 4 Feeling Strong drops in class for Hector Palma and gets Tiago Pereira up off a big last work. No. 5 Oh Man is the speed and will be playing catch me if you can. 1-4-5

Race 5

We will take a shot here and single No. 1 VERY VERY STELLA in the early pick five. We like that the under the radar jock Abel Cedillo gets on for O’Neill who just happens to be good friends with his agent. First off the $25k claim, O’Neill jumps him up to this $40k race, he must like what he purchased.

Race 6

No. 1 Babael comes off a good second when dropped to this level last out. No. 5 Reedley lost by a nostril at this level in his debut race here on May 5th, he has been working like this will be the maiden breaker albeit at a short price. 5-1

Race 7

In this $80k optional claimer going a mile on the grass. Trainer O’Neill sends out the uncoupled entry of No. 1 Contagion with Abel Cedillo riding and No. 6 Of Good Report with Bejarano getting the leg up as he looks for the hat trick. 1-6

Race 8

No. 1 Forestation is a perfect 3 for 3 on the dirt at Santa Anita. No. 2 Royal Trump is in top form and will be right there. No. 5 Aced exits the same last race as Trump. 1-2-5

Race 9

We will need to go four deep in this cal bred $50k maiden race for fillies and mares going a mile on the grass. Using No. 2 Lucky Stepper who has been right there at this level and distance in her last two starts. No. 4 Springster a live first time starter for Richard Baltas. No. 6 Laker Jet on the drop and No. 7 Sidepocket Charger also on the drop. 2-4-6-7
