If you are a poker player, you know this is the time of the year we all live for as The World Series of Poker started last week.

During the WSOP that runs into mid-July at the Rio, I like to find new places to eat close to the property. As poker players, we often eat at odd hours meaning late at night. And the new place I found is open till 3 a.m. Seafood House Captain 6, located at 5416 Spring Mountain Road, Suite 104 is just a few minutes’ drive from the Rio and caters to late-night diners. This is a Korean BBQ but with seafood and let me tell you it’s a lot of seafood.

I went with my buddy after a profitable poker session for the both of us. We went around midnight and the place was busy even that late on a Thursday. At Seafood House Captain 6 you have different combos to choose from ranging from $34.99 to $145.99. The combos are complete prices, not per person, so you are getting a ton a food for the price.

We went with the Shrimp combination platter with featured 20 pieces of full shrimps complete with the head. These were large sized Shrimp and they cook them right there at your table.

The combo came with several other items, including the Captain’s Special Tray. The Special Tray was my favorite side dish as they cook a tray with tomato sauce, calamari and beef and let everything simmer in the sauce.

The meat melts in your mouth and the calamari with the sauce was absolutely my favorite item. The Combo also came with a Wedge Salad for sharing, Cheese corn, which is very tasty along with your choice of Rice or Noodle Soup.

There are six other sides to choose from as you get to choose from 1-3 sides based on with Combo platter you pick from. We also ordered the Shrimp Tacos, and they were excellent.

The Shrimp Combo was $39.99 and honestly Glenn and I couldn’t finish everything. We are both big guys with big appetites, so this easily feeds two. But there was plenty of food for a third person, making it a tremendous value.

This is a fun place to go with a group as its fun seeing and smelling all the food cooking right in front of you.

If you don’t want to do a combo you can also order items a la carte. They have a late-night Happy Hour from 10 p.m. -2 a.m. when you can get fresh Oysters at $1.50 each, Fried Calamari for $4 and Shrimp Tacos for $5 just to name a few.

The wait staff is super friendly and takes care of cooking your food and telling you when different foods are ready to be eaten. The food was good, and the atmosphere was fun and all for a reasonable price. I give Seafood House Captain 6 a rating of 3.75 Forks.
