I haven’t done a review on a restaurant from the east side of town in awhile so this week after shooting our videos for WagerTalk.com I went with the guys to Ichabod’s Lounge located at 3300 E. Flamingo Road.

Ichabod’s is divided into two sections. They have a smoke-free dining area and a separate glass-enclosed bar area. This was my second trip to Ichabod’s and I have sat on each side. The bar area, even though it is often busy, is well ventilated. There are 13 TV’s spread out through the bar so no matter where you sit you will be able to catch the game.

On my first trip to Ichabod’s I went for a sandwich. They have a very large selection of sandwiches, wraps and burgers. Our waitress said their Philly sandwiches were great so I decided to order one. Problem was they have six different Philly sandwiches to choose from. I went with the French Onion Philly, which was amazing.

This sandwich was sliced beef and onions simmered in beef broth and topped with Swiss cheese. I love French onion soup and it was like eating a bowl of that soup in a sandwich. I was ready to order it again on my second visit until I saw their full sheet of daily specials that included blackened scallops, which came with rice pilaf and vegetables.

The dinner had a good size portion of scallops that were cooked to perfection. For a neighborhood bar I was really amazed at how good they were. The blackened scallops were just $16.95, which is like stealing. My buddy had a meatball sandwich and enjoyed his meal as well.

Ichabod’s Lounge has an All You Can Eat Soup and Salad bar for $9.99, but if you have a dinner entrée you can add it for just $3.99 more. The dinner menu is quite extensive as they have everything from steaks, seafood and pasta to comfort foods like pot roast, meatloaf and ribs. For those who like it, they even have liver and onions on the menu.

Since Ichabod’s is open 24/7 they also have a big breakfast menu served Monday through Friday from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m. and on the weekends till 4 p.m.

They have plenty of video poker machines at the bar if you want to play while you have a cold one or watch a game. They also have live entertainment nightly from 6:30  until 10:30 p.m.

If you like to play video poker they have a nice in-house promotion: Every time you hit a max-bet four-of-a-kind you receive a ticket for a drawing. They have a drawing on the first and third Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. You must be present to win and they give out over $4,000 in cash giveaways each night of the drawings.

If you are looking for good food in a nice neighborhood bar with reasonable prices and a friendly staff, I highly recommend Ichabod’s Lounge. I give it a rating of 3.75 Forks.
