For Game 4 tonight, the Dallas Stars are slight favorites on the road. The total is set at 5.5 goals with most sportsbooks charging a higher price on the Over.

Stars vs. Kraken Betting News

It was all Seattle in Game 3 Sunday afternoon.

The home crowd at Climate Pledge Arena in Uptown Seattle was loud and raucous. If there was any doubt before whether the city could support an NHL franchise — the “KrakHeads” are proving those doubters wrong.

After a scoreless first period, the Kraken unloaded in the second period with five goals by five different skaters. Jordan Eberle, Matty Beniers, Eeli Tolvanen, Alex Wennberg, and Carson Soucy scored in Seattle’s five-goal second period.

The Kraken offensive onslaught forced Dallas to pull goalie Jake Oettinger — who’s been a sure-handed goaltender throughout the playoffs — in the second period. He saved just 12 of 17 shots he faced. Scott Wedgewood was plugged into goal, but it was too little too late. Wedgewood saved six of eight shots, conceding goals in the third period to Yanni Gourde and Justin Schultz.

Dallas managed to get on the board once each in the second and third. Mason Marchment and Jani Hakanpaa scored the Stars’ goals. The Dallas Stars struggled mightily on the power play, going 0-for-3 with the man advantage, and gave up a shorthanded goal.

In net for the Kraken, Philipp Grubauer saved 24 of 26 shots faced. Seattle went one-for-two on the power play.

Dallas reached the Western Conference semifinals by taking down divisional rival Minnesota in the opening round. They Stars won the series 4-2. Seattle won Game 7 against the reigning Stanley Cup Champions, the Colorado Avalanche, in their first series to advance.

Betting a player to score a goal is among one of the most popular hockey prop bets to make. These are the DraftKings Sportsbook odds on the top skaters to score in Stars vs. Kraken Game 4.

  • Jason Robertson: +120
  • Roope Hintz: +150
  • Joe Pavelski: +175
  • Jaden Schwartz: +190
  • Tyler Seguin: +200
  • Oliver Bjorkstrand: +210

Stars vs. Kraken Game 4 Prediction: Over 5.5

In a series expected to feature more defense than offense, it’s been a surprisingly high-scoring affair through three games, including Joe Pavelski’s four-goal effort in the series opener. The over has cashed in each game of the series, and with some shaky goaltending recently, we like Game 4 to hit the Over again in our Stars vs. Kraken prediction.

There’s more juice to pay for the Over — oddsmakers are always adjusting — so consider betting just the second period over. The Stars and Kraken have combined for ten second-period goals over the last two games and bettors can get over two goals for plus money at most books.

Pick: Over 5.5 goals (-112 at BetRivers)
