Monday night’s primetime matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-7) and Indianapolis Colts (3-6-1) may not be on everybody’s wish list, but it presents a great opportunity to wager on player props and anytime touchdown scorer bets.

Indianapolis’ new head coach Jeff Saturday looks for his second win as an NFL coach as the team travels to Pittsburgh. Meanwhile, the Steelers have dropped three of its last four, but look for a change as they head home for Monday Night Football to conclude Week 12 of the 2022 NFL season.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Indianapolis Colts MNF Odds

The Colts – priced between -135 and -145 on the moneyline as of Monday morning – are 2.5-point favorites against the visiting team. Pittsburgh’s odds range from +112 and +123.

Indy hasn’t been backing up its status as the superior team this season, posting a 1-4 record against the spread as the chalk. That being said, DraftKings bettors are bucking the trend by taking the Colts both to lay the points (63% of spread tickets) and win outright (54% of moneyline tickets).

The Over/Under total for this late-night tilt sits between 39 and 39.5 points on legal US sports betting apps – the third lowest of any Week 12 contest.

Player Props, TD Scorer Bets for MNF Week 12

Matt Ryan Longest Completion Under 36.5 Yards (-110, BetMGM)

Matt Ryan has regressed to being a non-explosive – game manager. His longest completion has gone Under 36.5 passing yards in seven of his nine starts this season, and the last time he went Over was back in Week 4.

His air yards per attempt is currently 4.0 yards. That’s just lower than Russell Wilson’s, who’s notoriously been non-explosive in 2022. To add insult to injury, Matty Ice will see pressure from T.J. Watt, who will use his pass rush to not let deep routes develop in time.

Coach Saturday has put an emphasis on running the ball with Jonathan Taylor the past two games, which has given Ryan fewer opportunities to throw the ball, let alone throw deep.

Jonathan Taylor Anytime TD Scorer (-150, DraftKings)

This wouldn’t be much of a props list without including the best player on the field in Jonathan Taylor. The star running back has been slacking in the touchdown department this season, but he’s made some amends by logging back-to-back scoring days the past two weeks.

As mentioned in the Ryan prop section, Taylor has seen an uptick in carries ever since Saturday took over as play caller. More runs mean more chances to hit pay dirt.

Jonathan Taylor Under 88.5 Rushing Yards (-110, DraftKings)

Unfortunately, we can’t talk about Taylor without mentioning the baggage he carries as a runner.

He topped 86.5 ground yards just twice in 2022, and both times were against two of the worst run defenses in the NFL in the Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders.

Pittsburgh has turned into one of the best run-stopping forces in the league, especially with Watt back in the fold. It has held its last five opponents to an average of 77.6 yards on the ground, including 111 to the Philadelphia Eagles and 75 to the Buffalo Bills.

Only one opposing player has amassed 87-plus yards rushing against the Steel Curtain this season (Nick Chubb in Week 3). Taylor might have the chops to be the second player, but we’re advising against that Monday night.

Najee Harris Anytime TD Scorer (+123, BetRivers)

We haven’t seen many touchdown celebrations from the Steelers this year, but when we have, it’s often been Najee Harris doing the dancing. He leads the team in touchdowns (five), and his skills both as a receiver and a runner make him a threat to score on all plays.

The matchup isn’t ideal, but with Jaylen Warren ruled out for Monday’s contest, Harris will see every rushing opportunity for goal line and red zone work. He scored two touchdowns against the Cincinnati Bengals last week with Warren out.

Parris Campbell Over 46.5 Receiving Yards (-106, Caesars), Anytime TD Scorer (+330, DraftKings)

Parris Campbell has become a consistent pass catcher for the Colts, as well as a quality touchdown scorer. He has the most receiving scores (three) and the second most receiving yards (440) on the team.

After a quiet start to the season, Campbell suddenly saw a bump in productivity in Week 6 against the Jaguars (seven catches, 57 yards, one touchdown), and has now topped 57 receiving yards in four of his last six outings. He also scored in half of those six games.

While Pittsburgh is excellent at stopping the run, it has outright failed to keep the sky clear. The Steelers allow the second most yards through the air (272.1 per game) and the most passing touchdowns (2.2 per game), paving the way for Campbell to do some damage through the air.
