Suns vs. Nuggets Game 2 Odds

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Nuggets are sitting as 4.5-point favorites for Monday night, and the series price has shifted drastically, as the Nuggets are now -165 to -170 favorites to advance to the Western Conference Finals.

The Nuggets’ victory on Saturday has impressed the oddsmakers, as the Game 2 point spread has been nudged up since Game 1 closed -3.5 to -4. Here are Suns vs. Nuggets betting lines from the top US sports betting apps.

Suns vs. Nuggets Series Price

Prior to Game 1, the Suns were -130 or above favorites to win the series, but after getting rolled in the first game, Phoenix is now a clear underdog as it’s down 1-0 with another game in Denver tonight. Still, this star-studded lineup can beat any team on any night, including the Nuggets.

Here are the updated Suns vs. Nuggets odds to win the series:

Suns vs. Nuggets Betting Trends & Notes

Denver took control of Game 1 in the second quarter, outscoring Phoenix 37-19 to take a 16-point halftime lead, and they never looked back, winning by 18 points. With Jamal Murray‘s explosive 34-point performance and Nikola Jokic‘s 24-point triple-double, there was nothing Phoenix could do, especially with virtually zero bench production.

Denver improved to 4-2 ATS during the playoffs with the Game 1 win and cover, while Phoenix is 2-4 ATS, despite winning its first-round series against the Clippers in five games. The Suns also dropped below .500 ATS on the road this season (21-22-1) and are a measly 8-23 SU when playing as the underdog.

Again, the Suns can beat anyone, but the Nuggets are now 29-16-1 ATS at their home gym, and they finished the regular season with the third-best home record ATS.

In the four regular-season matchups between these two teams, they split the series, with Denver covering three of four and the total splitting 2-2.

Phoenix Suns Betting Trends

  • Phoenix is 3-6 ATS in its last nine games
  • The total has gone OVER in four of Phoenix’s last five games
  • Phoenix is 1-4 ATS in its last five games against Denver
  • The total has gone OVER in 10 of Phoenix’s last 12 road games

Denver Nuggets Betting Trends

  • Denver is 5-2 ATS in its last seven games
  • The total has gone OVER in four of Denver’s last five games
  • The total has gone OVER in five of Denver’s last seven games against Pheonix
  • Denver is 2-5 ATS in its last seven home games against Phoenix

Suns vs. Nuggets Game 2 Prop Bets

We have you covered if you need help picking through the hundreds of Suns vs. Nuggets prop bets for Game 2.

Nikola Jokic Over 25.5 Points (-110, DraftKings)

This is an attainable scoring prop for a guy putting up 25.8 points per game on 50% shooting from deep this postseason. While he did not exceed this number in Game 1, he scored 24 points and recorded his first triple-double of the playoffs.

In the three times he has not exceeded this number during the playoffs, the Nuggets cruised to victory, so he was not needed to be his typical dominant self. However, despite the Game 1 throttling, the urgency to go up 2-0 over Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and the Suns is significant. As we have seen, especially this year, the playoffs are tough, and heading back to Phoenix, one of the most challenging places to play, tied 1-1 in the series could be massive trouble for Jokic and Denver.

Jokic played only twice against the Suns in the regular season, and one game was a 29-point blowout, where Jokic played under 30 minutes. In the other game, however, he put up 41 points on 64% shooting from the field and 50% from beyond the arc.

For the first time, it seems like Jokic has a competent supporting cast, but if Denver wants to get past the loaded depth of the Suns, they need Jokic to take control, and that is precisely what he will do in Game 2.

Suns vs. Nuggets Game 2 Prediction

It feels like this will turn out to be the most important game of the series for both sides. While the Suns’ core of Durant, Booker, and Chris Paul can certainly overcome a 2-0 series deficit, especially with the next two games in Phoenix, the Nuggets are the top seed in the West for a reason.

The Suns are now 1-6 ATS in games against teams with a winning percentage over .600, but Denver has struggled to cover against Phoenix, covering in only two of the last seven.

As a result of Denver’s impressive Game 1 performance, Suns vs. Nuggets odds have shifted in Denver’s favor, as they are now 4.5-point favorites for Game 2 and are favored to win the series. However, the oddsmakers seemingly forgot to adjust the total, as it has gone up by only 0.5-1.0 points since Game 1, giving the bettors a real advantage with the Over.

The total has gone over in 14 of Phoenix’s last 23 games as road underdogs, and seven of the Suns’ last nine against the Nuggets have yielded high-scoring totals. With this likely to be a competitive game with a lot on the line, we will roll with this game going Over the total.
