I hope everyone is hanging in there during these trying times. If we all do our part this will be over before you know it.

My weekly column is normally about places that I like to go out to eat in Las Vegas. But that isn’t an option right now, so I wanted to list some places that I either order delivery from or I go pick up at.

We still have to eat and if I’m going to order out, I want to support local businesses. Most of the places that I will be mentioning will be places in my part of town.

Brooklyn’s Best Pizza and Pasta (5270 S. Fort Apache Road): This is my go-to place for take-out when I’m craving pasta but don’t want to cook at home.

I highly recommend getting their Tour of Brooklyn for $18.95. You get Chicken Parmesan, Lasagna and Fettuccine Alfredo all in one dish. This dinner for $18.95 is a great deal and is enough for my wife Lori and me to share.

Big B’s Texas BBQ (6115 S. Fort Apache Road): Here is a great place if you are feeling like some good BBQ. My go-to meal to order here are the one- or two-meat platters. For $10.99 you get one meat, or $15.99 for two meats.

You get to pick from Chicken, Brisket, Pulled Pork, Tri-Tip, Hot Links or Smoked Turkey and two side dishes. The side dishes are big, and you get a big meal for a small price. The BBQ is good and is a great value.

Biaggio’s Pizzeria (4235 S Fort Apache Road): For take-out pizza, this is my go-to place. From the crust to the sauce, I love everything about their pizza.

I like to build my own pizza which is always Pepperoni, Mushrooms and Onions. The pizza is great and is right by my house, making delivery or pick up very easy. A large cheese pizza is $16.99.

Pop’s Philly Steaks (501 S. Decatur Blvd.): If you are craving a great cheesesteak and want to get out of the house for a little drive, do what I did this past weekend and take a short drive to Pop’s Philly Steaks. Pop’s stands for Pride of Philadelphia.

Pop’s is open 24/7 so you can satisfy your hunger for one of if not the best Cheesesteaks in Las Vegas. Step up to the window order and in minutes you will have a freshly made cheesesteak and be on your way.

If you are not a cheese whiz fan, don’t worry, Pop’s serves their cheesesteaks with your choice of cheeses. The cheesesteaks are big and well worth the $10.99 price.
