Get Rich was sizzling in the bowl games last Friday and Saturday after a choppy start, going 11-1 and we will get to the last three games as soon as I pass on my resolutions for the New Year.

Since everyone seems to want to make some kind of resolution and people keep asking me what am I going to do for the New Year, I had to come up with something.

Well I have thought it out and I finally came up with what I am going to do. I have decided to do a George and do the opposite. I am going to drink more wine, try not to save any money, try to find the perfect plate of pasta; I may have to eat a lot more but what the heck.

Never pass up a game or a horse to bet on as I will be betting every red cent I have left over from my drinking and eating. I will go out this weekend and avoid all the clearance sales so I can spend top dollar on some new jeans that I will get two sizes larger, as I will need them in a few months.

I just may go out and buy a new car so I can have a high car payment, hopefully, for a new red one. I need to find some good future bets for the Kentucky Derby. These should be a good start.

So, there you are and I think I won’t get tired and go back to my old ways; I actually think I can keep these New Year’s resolutions.

The last week of the NFL was a joke and I wish that all the teams that did not play to win and are going to the playoffs lose their first game.

Before we get to the final bowl games here are the four wild card games.

Saturday, Jan. 9

Jets +3 total 34½ at Cincinnati NBC TV: Jets just beat the Bengals 37-0 in New York when the kitty did not show, so I hope they beat them again but I doubt it. Bengals +3 and under 34½

Eagles +4 total 45 at Cowboys NBC TV: Cowboys just beat the Eagles 24-0 in Dallas and I hope they beat them again but I doubt it as the Cowboys have lost their last six playoff games straight up. EAGLES +4 and under 45

Sunday, Jan. 10

Ravens +3½ total 43 at Patriots: I love the Pats in this game as they were one of the few teams that played hard last week and they missed the playoffs last year despite winning eleven games and that was the first time in NFL history that a team with eleven wins did not make the playoffs. Pats beat Baltimore early in the year 27-21 and they can duplicate that score. PATS -3½ and over 43 snow or no snow.

Packers +3 total 48 at Arizona: The Cardinal fans should get a refund from last weeks game as their home team was a complete no show against these same Packers last week losing 33-7. Green Bay has been on a tear lately winning and covering their last six games. PACKERS MONEY LINE

Tuesday, Jan. 5

Orange Bowl

Land Shark Stadium-Miami, Florida
5:10 PM FOX TV

Iowa +4 total 51 vs Georgia Tech: I like the way the Big Ten has played in the Bowl games and taking the points is the way to go as the big Hawkeye defense will keep them in the game and they did close their season covering five of their last six games and almost beat Ohio State in Columbus. IOWA +4

Wednesday, Jan. 6

Ladd Peebles Stadium-Mobile, AL 4:00 PM ESPN TV

Troy +3½ total 63 vs Central Michigan: The Chippewas have been in the Motor City Bowl the last three years, both teams can score but do believe Central Michigan has the best defense and they did beat Michigan State early in the year. Central Michigan -3½

Thursday, Jan. 7

BCS National

Championship Game

Rose Bowl-Pasadena, California

5:10 PM ABC TV

Texas +3½ total 45½ vs Alabama: The only drawback in this game is that if you keep the sound on you will have to listen to all the crap fed to you by the ABC announcers so there will be no sound on my TV and I will do the play by play myself. The main question is who was that team that played Florida and just crushed them 52-13 or who was that team that ost to Alabama 52-13? I don’t have the answer but the Tide will not produce that effort in this game and they will be very fortunate if they can even get the win over a very equal opponent. TEXAS MONEY LINE
