It was a great week of football for me. First, ASU beat ranked UCLA. Then, Patrick Mahomes looked like himself again throwing five touchdowns and leading the Chiefs to a win over the Eagles. Finally, the Cardinals took down the Rams in an NFC West showdown.
I did continue on my sports betting journey but lost my parlay thanks to the Tennesse Titans and New Orleans Saints dropping the ball and losing. But the best victory for me in week 4? I BEAT MY DAD!!!
Last Week’s Results
Dad – 8 games right (3-1)
Calli – 9 games right (1-3)
Yes, I won week 4! It took four weeks, but I finally beat dad. Not only did he lose in week 4, but so did his beloved Raiders. But at least they have the same record.
Speaking of the Raiders, that was a heartbreaking Monday Night Football game for Las Vegas fans. Unfortunately for the AFC West, the Chargers look like the real deal and could be trouble for the division. Especially since they are already 2-0 in the division.
A game that both dad and I were not disappointed in was the Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams game. I knew the Cardinals were going to come out and dominate and that is exactly what they did. Now, the Cardinals are sitting at 4-0, the only undefeated team in the NFL.
I will give it to my dad, he was right on the Bears. They beat the Detroit Lions when I thought for sure the Lions would be able to get the W. With the Raiders playing the Bears in week 5 though, my dad definitely isn’t picking Chicago this week.

There is only one game that dad and I disagree on. This is pretty crazy because there are some big matchups this week.
Dad is going with the Carolina Panthers and I am taking the Philadelphia Eagles. Yes, the Eagles aren’t very good, but after they did give the Chiefs a run for their money in the first half of their week 4 matchup, I am a little bitter. Christian McCaffery did return to practice for the Panthers this week, but not sure if he is going to be 100 percent if he does end up suiting up. The Panthers did gain Stephon Gilmore, but it might take time for him to mesh with the team, so I am not expecting a big first game for him. But I have been wrong before.
Of course, I always pick my Chiefs, even if I have doubts. But I was shocked to see my Dad pick the Chiefs over the Bills this week. Dad didn’t pick the Cardinals last week against the Rams and I think he learned his lesson. Arizona is the real deal and we both think they will be able to take down the 49ers with ease.
Week 5 Games To Watch
There are some good games lined up this week including the first international game of the season. The New York Jets and Atlantic Falcons travel across the Atlantic to play in London on Sunday morning. The Jets did end up winning last week, but I don’t think they will be able to win two in a row. The Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars are two teams that didn’t win last week and have failed to win any game this season. With both teams at 0-4, will week 5 be the week that they earn their first win?
The Lions play in Minnesota against the Vikings and I don’t think they will be able to pull off a win. As for the Jaguars, they host the Tennessee Titans and actually have a chance to get the win. Do I think they will? No, but the Titans have been pretty disappointing this season and did give the Jets their first win last week.
Sunday Night Football On NBC
The biggest game I am looking forward to is the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs game. The Chiefs host the Bills on Sunday night for a week 5 AFC Championship rematch. Am I confident in the Chiefs like I was last year when they played the Bills? No.
The Chiefs have a lot of work to do on defense and even though their offense can put up plenty of points, they will basically need to score on every possession if they want to keep up with dynamic Buffalo. Make sure to stay tuned for my Chiefs Corner column to get a more in-depth look at this game.
