Another week of football has come and gone. We have been spoiled so far with 16 NFL games to watch each week, but now we have come to that time of the season where we only have 14 games because of byes.

It was a crazy week of football in week 5, which appears to be the theme this year. The Arizona Cardinals still remain undefeated and Jacksonville and the Lions still remain winless. I won again this week, picking 14 of the 16 games right, where my dad only got 13 right. He started out strong 3-0, but I am looking for a comeback!

Last Week’s Results

Dad –  13 games right (3-2)

Calli –  14 games right (2-3)

There were a few stressful overtime games. The Green Bay Packers barely beat the Cincinnati Bengals as both kickers struggled to score. The other overtime game was the Monday Night Football matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens scored a touchdown on the first possession of OT getting the win.

The Philadelphia Eagles did what I predicted and beat the Carolina Panthers. Neither team played well and with Christian McCaffrey out for the Panthers, the Eagles were able to pull off the win. This is the game that my dad and I disagreed on and I ended up winning that battle.

But we both ended up being wrong on the Las Vegas Raiders and Chicago Bears game. We all have heard about the Raiders’ latest news with Jon Gruden out as head coach. This happened a day after the game, but it still could have been a distraction to the players as the Raiders had a pretty bad game. Derek Carr threw for 206 yards and an interception, with no touchdowns. Josh Jacobs only had 48 rushing yards but did put points on the board. Their offense simply wasn’t there putting up only 71 rushing yards. As for the Bears, they weren’t that great either. But they did sack Carr three times and walked away with the W.

The other game we were wrong on was the Chiefs and Bills game. The Chiefs were horrendous and the Bills dominated. Nothing more to say about that.

Week 6 Picks

Week 6 offers some great matchups including the Arizona Cardinals and Cleveland Browns game along with the Los Angeles Chargers and Baltimore Ravens game. Dad and I disagreed on three games this week. The surprising one was him picking the Cardinals over the Browns. As much as I love my Arizona Cardinals, they didn’t put on a great performance last week and Kyler Murray’s shoulder might be worse than we think. Also, Rodney Hudson is out for week 6.

The other game we disagree on is the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars game. The Jaguars are still trying to win a game this season and I have a feeling this could be the game. After winning in week 1 against the Patriots, the Dolphins have failed to win again.

Christian McCaffery might be back for the Carolina Panthers this week and that news was enough for me to pick the Panthers. But my dad is going with the Minnesota Vikings on this one. No matter the outcome, I am betting this will be a pretty good game to watch.

Teams with byes: Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers

Week 6 Games To Watch

As I mentioned the Cardinals and Browns game is going to be a terrific game, especially to see if the Cardinals stay undefeated. The Chargers and Ravens game is going to be an entertaining and high-scoring game, but the other AFC game I am interested in is the AFC West matchup between the Las Vegas Raiders and Denver Broncos.

Arizona Cardinals Vs. Cleveland Browns

One of the biggest games this week is the Cardinals and Browns game and it is sure to deliver.

The Browns had a tough loss in week 5. But they still put up crazy stats with a total of 531 total yards. This is something the Cardinals defense is going to have to stop, which they have been doing pretty well. Especially thanks to Zach Allen, J.J. Watt, Budda Baker, and Chandler Jones. Unfortunately, Jones will most likely be out on Sunday as he is on the Covid list. That means the Cardinals’ offense will need to improve from last week. Murray is suffering from a shoulder injury and tight end Maxx Williams is out for the season. The good news is the Cardinals still have Deandre Hopkins and running back Chase Edmonds to take the lead.

Los Angeles Chargers Vs. Baltimore Ravens

I hate to admit it, but the Los Angeles Chargers are on fire. In their win against the Browns last week, Justin Herbert threw four touchdowns and had a rushing touchdown. On top of their explosive offense, their defense is also doing work with Joey Bosa, Michael David, and Derwin James. But it is going to be hard to stop Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. If you are betting on this game, since both teams can score, you might want to take the over on this one.

Las Vegas Raiders Vs. Denver Broncos

With all of the drama surrounding the Raiders, any Raiders game is going to be worth watching this week. But especially when it is a division game. Both teams started out 3-0, but both have lost in the last two weeks. This will be the first game for Rich Bisaccia, the Raiders’ special teams coordinator, as the interim head coach. Darren Waller didn’t practice on Wednesday, and the Raiders will need him if they want to beat the Broncos.
