We saw some major upsets in week 7 with the Kansas City Chiefs losing 27 to 3 against the Tennessee Titans and the Cincinnati Bengals taking over the AFC North after beating the Baltimore Ravens 41 to 17, good news for underdog bettors who like NFL moneylines. This NFL season has not been a disappointment and as we look into week 8, we can expect another exciting week of football. And it all starts with the Thursday Night Football match-up.
But before we dig into week 8’s games, it is time to reflect on week 7 and another successful win for me over my dad.
Last Week’s Results
Dad – 9 games right (4-3)
Calli – 10 games right (3-4)
Last week there was only one game dad and I disagreed on. The New York Giants ended up demolishing the Carolina Panthers. I am not sure why dad picked the Panthers in the first place, but I knew they wouldn’t do well without Christian McCaffrey. The absence of their star running back wasn’t the only issue. Quarterback Sam Darnold struggled throughout the game and was even benched.
There was a couple of games dad and I agreed on that we happened to be way off on. One of the most shocking was the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens game. Burrow came out on fire throwing for 416 yards, three touchdowns, and just one interception. Ja’Marr Chase also put on a show with 201 yards and one touchdown. The Bengals finished the game with 520 yards and a win over the Ravens.
Week 8 Picks
But I think the Detroit Lions will get their first win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. The Lions didn’t do too bad in their loss against the Rams in week 7 and the Eagles aren’t impressing me this year. And with the game being at home, this just might be the week that the Lions get the W.
As for the Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts game, I am going with the Titans. I don’t think the Colts have what it takes to stop both Derrick Henry and A.J. Brown. Tennessee is really starting to get in a groove and even though division games are always tough, I am betting the Titans’ offense will be too much for the Colts.
The Washington Football Team and the Denver Broncos are both having an off-year. Denver is a difficult place to play at, but I just have a feeling that the Denver Broncos defense isn’t strong enough to stop Terry McLaurin and Antonio Gibson.

Week 8’s Spooktacular Halloween Games To Watch
This Sunday is not only a day full of football, but it is also Halloween. There are two division games that I am keeping my eye on that are sure to entertain.
Steelers At Browns
An AFC North matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns is always a good game. The two haven’t met since the Browns eliminated the Steelers in the playoffs last year. Pittsburgh is currently a 3-point underdog and coming off a bye week. The Browns just came off a Thursday Night football win. Baker Mayfield was out but Case Keenum led the team to victory with the help of D’Ernest Johnson rushing for 146 yards.
It is still unsure who will be the QB1 in this game as Baker Mayfield recovers from an injury, but whoever is at QB will need to watch out for T.J. Watt. The man is on a roll this year and is not looking to slow down.
Buccaneers At Saints
With Drew Brees gone as quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, this NFC South matchup is still worth watching. Jameis Winston seems to be starting to get comfortable as the starting quarterback and is getting some help from Alvin Kamara. Winston threw for 222 yards and one touchdown in the Saints’ Monday Night football win over Seattle. Kamara finished the game with 51 rushing yards, 128 receiving yards, and a touchdown. Those two are starting to prove to be a duel threat.
But the Bucs defense is tough and the offense is hard to stop. Tom Brady threw four touchdowns in the team’s 38 to 3 win against the Bears. Chris Godwin had 111 yards and one touchdown. I don’t think the Saints are going to pull off the win, but I still think it will be a close division game.
