The College Football season kicked off last week and the NFL will start Thursday so it’s time to hit all the great sports bars with friends to catch some action, enjoy a few cold ones and good food.

Well, betting on the right teams always makes it better.

If you haven’t been to the Linq on the Strip yet I suggest you check it out. There are a lot of places to hang out and catch a game. The Tilted Kilt is one of the new occupants and I’ll be a regular there.

They have a ton of TV’s for watching all the action, a huge beer selection if you want a cold one and a full menu of items for the serious football fan.

For me, when it comes to watching football, it’s an absolute must to have good chicken wings. I’m a big fan of the Kilt wings as they offer 6 different flavors. My personal favorite is their TK signature sauce wings with the Garlic Parmesan Wings being a close second.

I love getting a soft pretzel when at a game. When ordering the Pub Pretzels with their signature Guinness Beer Cheese sauce I feel like I’m right at the game.

If you like burgers check out one of their Big Arse Burgers, which start with a fresh ½ lb. choice butcher’s blend patty, and enjoy several different combinations of toppings. My favorite is the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger topped with crispy shoestring onions and Guinness BBQ sauce.

Check out their Hoppy Hour, as they call it, with food and drink specials from 3-7 p.m. and 9 to close. Special appetizers are priced at $2-$5 during Hoppy Hour. I highly recommend trying their pulled pork sliders, which I enjoy for a change of pace when not ordering wings. TK is known for its pub fare items such as the classic Fish & Chips, Shepherd’s Pie and, of course, Irish Stew.

If you are craving something sweet, save room for dessert and try their Tilted Guilt, which is a partially-baked chocolate chip cookie or white macadamia nut cookie served hot with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup.

For those of us who have a sweet tooth this is the bomb.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot the Kilt girls. Yes, all your food and drink items will be served to you by one of the lovely Kilt girls. Girls in kilts – need I say more?

I have been to the Kilt several times since they opened and it’s been an enjoyable experience each time. I give it a rating of 3.50 Forks out of 4.
