It’s not often I try something and walk away saying wow, but this week I did just that. I finally got to head over to Topgolf located at 4627 Koval Lane.
Topgolf is a great place to just hang out and watch the games. There are 300 HD TV’s located throughout the massive complex so you can sit and enjoy all the action. But it’s always more enjoyable watching the action if you have some money on the game and Topgolf has you covered.
There is a betting station located right inside Topgolf so you won’t miss getting down on any game. In addition to the 300 TV’s there are five giant screens at Topgolf. When you are hitting golf balls you are looking at four 50-foot TV screens. Inside the main lounge area there is a giant wall TV. This may be the coolest place outside of a sports book to watch the action.
Topgolf is also a music venue as they have concerts and live acoustic music in the different areas. It also has two pools on two different levels to hang out with your friends, creating a day club atmosphere. In one of the areas they have great bar games such as corn hole, shuffleboard and ping-pong to play with your friends.
I was so impressed with Topgolf so far that I said to my buddy if the food is just mediocre I’ll be happy because of everything else. Well, the food was excellent. I started off with one of their signature cocktails, The Tipsy Palmer, which was Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka, ABSOLUT Citron Vodka, iced tea and fresh lemon. This was the perfect summertime cocktail and a nice tribute to golf legend Arnold Palmer.
We tried a few different items on this visit, as the menu is quite extensive so there were many more items I want to go back and try that I didn’t on this trip. We started off with an order of the Chef’s Sweet Onion Dip served with house made salt and vinegar chips. The chips were so light and tasty, and the dip was great.
Next up we had to try the wings; they have two different styles so naturally we tried both. The Topgolf Wings are traditional style. I went with the Mango Habanero, which was a great combination of spicy yet sweet from the mango. The other wings are called Backyard Wings. These wings had a citrus brine, then were smoked and grilled with a garlic vinaigrette. Both were good but I preferred the Topgolf wings and my buddy preferred the Backyard wings so it worked out well for sharing.
We also got an order of the House Marinated Steak. These are great for sharing as you get three big kabobs of marinated steak that are very flavorful. We enjoyed this appetizer as well. Our waitress told us about a must-have dessert and, what can I say, she had me at hello.
We ordered the Injectable Donut Holes. This is a great dessert for sharing as you get 24 warm cinnamon-sugar dusted donut holes. You then get to pick from three flavors that are brought to you in a syringe so you can inject the filling into the donut hole. You can choose from chocolate, raspberry jelly or Bavarian Cream. Don’t worry if you can’t decide what flavor to get, for $1 more you can get all three. Trust me, you will want them all.
Not only were these good but also it was fun injecting the flavors into the donut holes.
Everything we had to eat was great and there were so many other items I want to go back and try. You can get everything from appetizers, to sandwiches to even grilled New York Strip.
Lastly was the golf itself, which we had a blast playing as we had one of the golf bays. Prices for a bay really are reasonable, especially when you go with a group of friends. Depending on the time of day and day of the week, the golf bays start at $30 a hour and you can have up to six people playing, which really makes for a fun and affordable time. There are several different skill games you can play competing against one another.
Given the total experience we had at Topgolf – the food, the bars, the TV’s, being able to wager on games, two swimming pools, concerts and of course the golf – I am giving Topgolf my highest rating of 4 Forks.
I highly recommend giving Topgolf a try. It’s family friendly as there are three different levels with 21 and over only on the third level so it’s cool to bring the entire family.
