Manchester United are coming off a season-opening win over Wolves on Monday as they travel to London. Tottenham opened the season with a 2-2 draw vs. Brentford last weekend, followed by Harry Kane’s move to Bayern Munich.
How Spurs find goals now that their longtime top scorer plays in Germany looms as one of the biggest questions in the Premier League.
In Gaming Today’s breakdown of Tottenham vs. Manchester United predictions, odds, and props, we cover the EPL Matchday 2 battle between two teams expecting a top-four finish this season.

Tottenham Roster, Injuries, and Betting News
Where do the goals come from for this side? With 30 goals and three assists in ’22-23, Kane was responsible for nearly half of the 70 Premier League goals Tottenham scored as a team. In ’21-22, he accounted for 26 (17 goals, nine assists) of Spurs’ 69 goals, and in ’20-21, he provided 37 (23 goals, 14 assists) of 68 goals.
No team has bigger shoes to fill than Tottenham does following Kane’s exit. New Manager Ange Postecoglou started Richarlison at striker against Brentford in his team’s opener. It will be interesting to see whether the 26-year-old Brazilian remains the first-choice striker after injuries limited him to just one goal and three assists in 12 starts in ’22-23, his first year with Spurs.
Tottenham’s top players include attacking midfielder James Maddison (the club’s top signing of the offseason), 2022 World Cup-winning center back Cristian Romero, and 31-year-old Son Heung-min, their top attacking player after Kane for the last several years.
Spurs found two goals in the opener against Brentford, but both came from the back line, as right back Emerson and Romero provided the scoring. Tottenham dominated the ball (69%) and Maddison’s two-assist debut was encouraging, but the collective offensive performance (just 1.3 xG vs. Brentford) will have to improve against teams like ManU.
Spurs are without Ryan Sessegnon, Bryan Gil, and Rodrigo Bentancur, while Tanguy Ndombele and Fraser Forster are unlikely to play.
Manchester United Roster, Injuries, and Betting News
Manchester United got all three points with a 1-0 win over Wolves in their opener, but it wasn’t pretty. The winner in the 76th came via a header from Raphael Varane off a perfect pass from Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
But that was just one of two shots on target all match by ManU. Erik ten Hag’s side were also lucky that a late collision between keeper Andre Onana and Wolves’ Sasa Kalajdzic did not result in a penalty for Wolves.
Wolverhampton was able to play through United in the middle of the pitch for much of that match. That area is a major concern for United as they take on Maddison and Tottenham this weekend.
ManU, which finished last season in third place, made some key additions over the summer, signing Onana, Mason Mount, and 20-year-old striker Rasmus Højlund. The biggest move after the deal for ex-Chelsea midfielder Mount was replacing David de Gea with Onana, who played for ten Hag at Ajax before joining Inter Milan and keeping eight clean sheets in 24 starts in his first and only season in Milan last year.
We won’t see Hojlund on Saturday due to a back injury. Center back Lisandro Martinez’s status is unclear following an ankle injury he sustained against Wolves.

On paper, the only safe bet in this match is that we’ll see plenty of scoring. The Over 3.5 being priced at just +140 on FanDuel – with Over 2.5 at -189 – screams shootout.
Assuming this becomes the open match that oddsmakers expect, it’s hard to see Tottenham’s unproven attack keeping up with Marcus Rashford, Antony, and dangerous midfielders Bruno Fernandes and Mount.
