The NFL season opened this past weekend so we will continue our tour of fun bars to enjoy great food while watching our favorite teams.

This week I ventured to Brentwood Café & Tavern (7315 W. Warm Springs Road). I have to admit driving past this place many times but never stopping in. That won’t be the case anymore.

My partner in crime Cris and his wife Nok joined me. Brentwood has a separate dining and bar area. If you don’t want to sit in the bar they have a very nice dining room. The bar has plenty of TV’s and NFL Sunday Ticket to catch all the action.

There is a weekday Happy Hour from 3-6 daily with half-priced appetizers and drink specials. We ordered several different items, starting with the warm pretzel bites. We enjoyed these warm salty nuggets, especially adding cheese sauce to dip them in.

Next up was the Cajun dry rub chicken wings. These were our favorite by far and we quickly put in a second order. The fact they were dry rub wings is what we liked – a nice change of pace from the same old wings in a wet sauce. They had several other flavors but we were very happy with our choice.

Next we tried their char grilled quesadilla and it was huge, but more importantly, good. You can add chicken or beef (we went with the chicken). This may have been the best quesadilla I have had in Las Vegas. The combination of being char grilled and having grilled onions inside put it over the top for me.

I came back a few days later wanting to try breakfast. They offer part of their breakfast menu 24 hours a day. One of the items was a Root Beer Float Pancake. They add root beer to the pancake batter then top the warm pancakes with ice cream and whipped cream. So I ask you, is this really a breakfast or a dessert? Well, I’m not really sure but I do know it was quite good.

I will be making more trips back to the Brentwood Café. It’s a great neighborhood bar with a very friendly wait staff and quality food.

On a future visit I want to try one of their wood fired pizzas. I saw a few of the burgers come out of the kitchen and those are on my list as well.

With their Happy Hour Specials the Brentwood Café is a no brainer. I give it 3.75 forks.
