UFC Fight Night 235 Betting Preview: Dolidze vs Imavov

Roman Dolidze (12-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) hasn’t fought in almost a year.

His last bout, against former title contender Marvin Vettori, ended in a decision loss after he was battered for three rounds.

Before that, he was riding a four-fight win streak. He has beaten the likes of Jack Hermansson, Phil Hawks, and Kyle Daukaus all by finish.

He will face fellow up-and-comer Nassourdine Imavov (12-4 (1) MMA, 4-2 (1) UFC).

Imavov is coming off of a no-contest against Chris Curtis due to a clash of heads last summer. Before that, he lost by TKO to former Middleweight Champion Sean Strickland before Strickland held the belt.

He has wins over Joaquin Buckley, Edmen Shahbazyan, and Ian Heinisch.

These two middleweights will most likely stay on their feet throughout the majority of the fight. Both fighters have solid stand-up and footwork.

But both fighters also have something to prove. Neither fighter scored a victory in 2023 and each needs one to start 2024 to continue to be considered a potential future contender.

The middleweight belt has switched hands four times since around the time of these fighters’ last wins, so the division is truly up for grabs throughout 2024.

A win for either fighter could lead to a bigger name next. Names like Paulo Costa and Jared Cannonier come to mind.
