UFC Fight Night 237 Betting Preview: Moreno vs. Royval 2

It’s the second Battle of the Brandons, but this time the stakes are higher than ever. Both Brandons are trying to stay in the title picture after both losing to current Flyweight Champion Alexandre Pantoja.

In their first matchup, Brandon Moreno (21-7-2 MMA, 10-4-2 UFC) proved to be the superior Brandon, beating Brandon Royval (15-7 MMA, 5-3 UFC) by TKO in the first round.

Since that first meeting in late 2020, the two have been paving paths of their own.

Up until recently, Moreno was mostly preoccupied with his quadrilogy against Deiveson Figueiredo. In that historic series, Moreno came out on top with a 2-1-1 record against his fellow former champ.

To put it into perspective, Moreno has fought six times since his bout against Royval in Nov. 2020. Out of those six fights, four had been against Figueiredo.

Meanwhile, Royval has had five fights of his own in that span. Since Nov. 2020, he has gone 3-2, with both losses coming from Pantoja.

Moreno also has two losses against Pantoja.

Over the course of his career, Royval has had wins over names like Kai Kara-France, Matt Schnell, and Tim Elliott. For Royval, Moreno is still a step up in competition in the same realm as Pantoja.

Both Brandons are super speedy and can handle the fight wherever it may go. They’ve both proven they can finish fights on the feet and on the ground.

There is a great chance that whoever wins on Saturday night will be at the front of the line to face Pantoja once again.
