UFC Fight Night 239 Betting Preview: Tuivasa vs. Tybura

Some big boys will be clashing in the Octagon on Saturday night.

Tai Tuivasa (14-6 MMA, 8-6 UFC) is desperately looking to bounce back from his current three-fight losing streak.

Tuivasa had a great stretch with five wins in a row before that during his 2020-21 run that included knockouts over Derrick Lewis, Augusto Sakai, Greg Hardy, Harry Hunsucker, and Stefan Struve.

Once he stepped it up in competition, he suffered knockout losses from Ciryl Gane and Sergei Pavlovich and a submission loss from Alexander Volkov.

Tuivasa is one of the hardest hitters in heavyweight MMA outside of Derrick Lewis and Francis Ngannou. He’s a tough, but stubborn fighter who prefers to stay on his feet and brawl.

However, this isn’t his first three-fight losing streak and he turned it around once before.

But Marcin Tybura (24-8 MMA, 11-7 UFC) is trying to rebound his career as well.

Tybura is coming off a loss against current Heavyweight Interim Champion Tom Aspinall.

Unlike Tuivasa, Tybura has achieved a lot of decision wins. In fact, in his career, he has nine decisions and nine knockout wins.

His career resume includes wins over Alexander Romanov, Walt Harris, Greg Hardy, Ben Rothwell, Andrei Arlovski, and a handful of others.

Both men will be looking to keep this fight standing, though Tybura has shown he can wrestle and go for a full three to five rounds. Tuivasa has not quite proven the same and hasn’t gone to a decision since 2019.

A win here is close to essential for both fighters. Otherwise, we might be seeing them in the PFL in the near future.
