Fast-rising UFC flyweight Erin Blanchfield takes on highly-respected former champion Jessica Andrade on short notice at UFC Fight Night at the Apex in Las Vegas this Saturday night.
Despite coming in at short notice, Andrade is a slight betting favorite due to her UFC experience and former champ status. Here, we look at UFC Fight Night odds, props, and predictions for the Feb. 18 card
Blanchfield was originally scheduled to fight the most recent title contender Taila Santos in the main event, but due to visa issues, the card was changed with former strawweight champ Andrade filling in.
UFC Fight Night Odds Have Andrade a Slight Favorite in Vegas
Both women are exciting, well-rounded mixed martial artists looking for title shots, and a win for either one of them could mean they are up next to face the winner of the division’s next title fight between current champion Valentina Shevchenko and Alexa Grasso.
Sportsbooks have Andrade as the slight favorite, coming in at -135 at DraftKings and Caesars. Blanchfield is the slight underdog, priced at +116 on FanDuel as of Thursday morning. Andrade Looks to Make Another Statement on Short Notice
Jessica Andrade (24-9 MMA, 15-7 UFC) is hopping right back in the Octagon after just putting on an historic striking clinic against fellow flyweight title contender Lauren Murphy last month at UFC 283 in Rio.
Andrade landed 231 significant strikes in her unanimous decision win against Murphy, which is now the women’s flyweight record.
On a three-fight win streak with wins against Amanda Lemos and Cynthia Calvillo, Andrade is looking to make it four in a row to solidify her application as the next title contender for the 125-pound belt.

Andrade’s last loss was to Shevchenko at UFC 261 in April 2021, where the champion got the TKO finish in the second round.
Since then, Andrade has looked unstoppable. Plus, she has notable finishes over fellow former strawweight champ Rose Namajunas, Joanne Calderwood, Karolina Kowalkiewicz, and current Professional Fighting League Lightweight Champion Larissa Pacheco.
A potential rematch between Andrade and Shevchenko would be an interesting matchup if both fighters win their next bouts.
Young Blanchfield is Proving She’s Here to Stay
The 23-year-old (yes, 23) Erin Blanchfield (10-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC) is facing her biggest challenge yet in her young MMA career. In fact, fighting Andrade is one of the biggest challenges any strawweight or flyweight can face in their MMA career.
But Blanchfield has proven to have advanced grappling knowledge and made easy work of the likes of Molly McCann and JJ Aldrich in her last two bouts, submitting both of them.
She also has notable victories in her career over Miranda Maverick, Kay Hansen, Brogan Walker-Sanchez, and Victoria Leonardo. Her only loss came by split decision to Tracy Cortez in Invicta.
Fighting and beating a 10-year UFC veteran and former belt holder/current title contender is no easy task, but if any of the current flyweights can do it right now, it’s Blanchfield.
She looked almost flawless and turned heads against McCann at UFC 281 in front of the Madison Square Garden crowd, instantly taking her to the ground and going from a crucifix to acquiring a kimura and tapping the ‘Meatball’ in the first round in just over three minutes.
After the submission, she stood up and brushed her shoulders off, telling the MMA world, ‘What’s next?’ Well, we’re about to find out on Saturday and if Grasso can’t do it, Blanchfield would likely cause Shevchenko some problems on the ground if she can beat Andrade on Saturday.
