The 41-year-old Holly Holm (15-6 MMA, 8-6 UFC) is looking for one more title shot. With Amanda Nunes’ retirement, there’s a slight chance she might actually get it too with a win on Saturday.

Holm is coming off a decision win over Yana Santos and she had a decision win over the last challenger, Irene Aldana, so it’s not out of the question that a fight between her and Julianna Pena could take place by the end of the year.

But first, she has to get through Mayra Bueno Silva (10-2-1 MMA, 5-2-1 UFC) and that’s a tall task.

Bueno Silva has put together a nice three-fight win streak with two submissions over Lina Lansberg and Stephanie Egger. Her decision victory came against Wu Yanan.

She also had an impressive first-round submission over Gillian Robertson in her UFC debut and Robertson is most known for her slick ground game.

Her only UFC loss thus far has come from Manon Fiorot, who is facing former Strawweight Champion Rose Namajunas at flyweight later this year in Paris.

But Holm has fought everyone and anyone in UFC women’s history. Her resume includes her iconic win over Ronda Rousey and she has faced the likes of Amanda Nunes, Cris Cyborg, Miesha Tate, Valentina Shevchenko, Megan Anderson, and many others.

Holm is known for her kickboxing. Her ability to stop Rousey in her tracks with a perfectly-placed headkick will forever keep her in the UFC history books. But, Bueno Silva is a top grappler in the division and Holm will have to be careful to not stay on the ground too long with her.

A win for Bueno Silva probably doesn’t mean a title shot, unless she finishes Holm in devastating fashion. If she beats Holm, she will probably face another top fiver which would then lead to a title shot. But hey, it’s the UFC so you never know!
