UFC Fight Night Best Bets & Parlay

Darren Elkins (+185) vs. Cub Swanson

After opening up as a near pick em’, action has been flying on Cub Swanson, moving the line to over -200 at sportsbooks around the betting marketplace. Notably, Swanson has not closed as a betting favorite since April of 2017. Darren Elkins could get KO’d by Swanson, but he usually has the ability to recover from heavy shots without succumbing to the pressure. From there, he uses relentless grappling attacks to land takedowns and wear on his opponent’s cardio. Elkins could grind out a decision by winning the last two rounds or getting a late finish. Elkins’ number should be around +130, so take the value here and back the underdog to come through at a big price.

UFC Vegas 45 Pick: Darren Elkins ML +185 (BetMGM)

UFC Parlay +188: Muhammad/Thompson Fight Goes The Distance -225 + Tafa/Hunsucker Fight Starts Round 2 +100

Muhammad /Thompson: These are my two favorite bets on the card. Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson has had eight of his last nine fights go to a decision (88.89%). This is  a massive percentage, and Belal Muhammad shares this tendency for longer fights, as nine  of his last 10 fights have gone to the judges’ scorecards (90%). Both fighters prefer to tally up points by touching their opponents rather than going for the big finishes.

Tafa/Hunsucker: Justin Tafa is not a knockout artist by any means, despite his massive size and being a -300 favorite. Harry Hunsucker is a live dog who constantly chases early finishes. However, he appears to be in the best shape of his life and is promising a more calculated approach this weekend.

Getting +188 on this parlay is a phenomenal value, and both are worth individual bets as well.

Macy Chiasson (+160) vs. Raquel Pennington

On short notice, Macy Chiasson faces off against Raquel Pennington. Pennington was initially slated to fight Julia Avila at bantamweight, but Avila was forced to pull out. Chiasson normally fights at 145 pounds, and so that is where this fight will take place. The sudden change in weight class benefits the 5-foot-11 Chiasson, as 5-foot-7 Pennington has not fought at featherweight yet in her UFC career. Moreover, Chiasson has five inches in reach advantage, so this is a great spot for Chiasson to pull off the underdog win.

UFC Vegas 45 Pick: Macy Chiasson ML +160
