USA face a stiffer test when it hosts El Salvador on Monday night at Exploria Stadium in Orlando than it did on Friday, when it destroyed a weak Grenada side, 7-1.

The El Salvador match wraps up CONCACAF Nations League Group Stage play for manager Anthony Hudson and the USMNT. USA leads its group with seven points — second-place El Salvador has five points – so a draw in Monday’s match would guarantee the USMNT a spot in the CONCACAF Nations League Semifinals in June.

In Gaming Today’s look at USA vs. El Salvador odds, props, and predictions, we examine whether El Salvador will make life more difficult than Grenada after one of USA’s most one-sided victories in years.

Regardless of the caliber of the opponent, a 7-1 win – with six goals scored in the first hour – will generate some buzz.

The excitement among USMNT fans comes from watching not only another dominant showing against a CONCACAF opponent by stars Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie, but also some tantalizing flashes from new faces including Alejandro Zendejas and Auston Trusty.

USA Roster, Injuries, and Betting News

It was no surprise to see the USMNT get goals from Pulisic and McKennie against Grenada. If there was one encouraging performance from a player who did not travel to Qatar, that honor would belong to forward Ricardo Pepi, who scored two goals, including the opener in the fourth minute.

In addition to getting a goal from Mexican-born Zendejas in an appearance that cap-tied the 25-year-old, Hudson and the USMNT were able to give valuable minutes to winger Taylor Booth, midfielder Johnny Cardoso, and forward Daryl Dike, all of whom are looking to crack the roster for the 2026 World Cup on home soil.

Injuries

USA started a nearly full-strength XI against Grenada, with only midfielder Tyler Adams and forward Tim Weah unavailable.

Defender Chris Richards, who is still absent with an injury that prevented him from playing in the World Cup, is out of the mix, but Miles Robinson is available, though he did not play on Friday.

El Salvador Roster, Injuries, and Betting News

The talent on El Salvador pales in comparison to USA’s crop of players scattered across the top leagues in Europe, but USA is facing a step up in competition from Friday. While Grenada is No. 173 in FIFA’s world rankings, El Salvador is No. 74.

In terms of roster market value, El Salvador’s squad has an estimated total value of $7.73 million, per Transfermarkt. That figure is far greater than Grenada’s $1.58 million.

As far as well-known players, the top name for El Salvador is Alex Roldan, who plays right back for the Seattle Sounders. Roldan is one of three El Salvador players in MLS. The lineup also features Eriq Zavaleta of LA Galaxy and Tomas Romero of Toronto FC. El Salvador boast a 21-year-old forward with a bright future in Brayan Gil Hurtado of Colombian side Deportes Tolima.

They are managed by former USMNT midfielder Hugo Perez.

USA vs. El Salvador Prediction: USA 3, El Salvador 1

Fans of the USMNT should not expect another easy romp. El Salvador will be overmatched, but it has proven in recent meetings that it can push USA.

In two CONCACAF qualifiers ahead of the 2022 World Cup, the USMNT came away with a 0-0 draw in El Salvador and a 1-0 win in Columbus.

And on the road in their CONCACAF Nations League Group D opener on June 14, 2022, USA needed a Jordan Morris goal in stoppage time to avoid a loss. That result came in a scrappy 1-1 contest in which both teams (Paul Arriola for USA, Ronald Gomez for El Salvador) were issued red cards.

Historically, we’ve seen the USMNT struggle on the road against teams like El Salvador. At home, though – especially in Orlando, where USA have always played well – they should have Monday’s match in hand well before stoppage time. Still, they’ll need to be sharp to avoid a letdown following Friday’s blowout.

Here are a few bets available at DraftKings that are worth checking out:

  • Over 3.5 goals (+140)
  • USA Win and Over 3.5 Goals (+125)
