Less than a week after raising the CONCACAF Nations League trophy last Sunday, interim manager B.J. Callaghan and the USMNT are back in action Saturday night at Soldier Field. USA open CONCACAF Gold Cup group play against Jamaica in a tournament that will test the Americans’ depth.
In Gaming Today’s breakdown of USA vs. Jamaica odds, props, and predictions, we analyze the battle between the American players making their case for a spot on the 2026 World Cup roster and a Jamaica side with an experienced manager and several Premier League players.
The USMNT’s Gold Cup roster features mostly U.S.-based players. That means Matt Turner and center-back Miles Robinson are two of the few players on this roster who played in the Qatar World Cup.

USA Roster, Injuries, and Betting News
Just five players on the Gold Cup roster also participated in the Nations League: Turner, Robinson, Sean Johnson, Alan Soñora, and Alex Zendejas.

While the likes of Christian Pulisic, Giovanni Reyna, and the bulk of the XI that just won the Nations League are out of the mix, Callaghan still has several experienced players to rely on.
In addition to Turner and Robinson, the U.S. roster features Jesus Ferreira, DeAndre Yedlin, Jordan Morris, Cristian Roldan, Johnson, and Aaron Long, all of whom made the trip to Qatar but played limited minutes, if any.
The Gold Cup figures to give USMNT fans a highly-anticipated glimpse of forwards Brandon Vazquez and Zendejas, as well as midfielder Djordje Mihailovic and center-back Bryan Reynolds.
Because this roster features only a few first-choice starters, plenty of intrigue surrounds Callaghan’s starting XI once that is announced on Saturday. Whoever he chooses, the USMNT’s opponents will be full-strength, except for Canada. USA also relied on its B team in the 2021 Gold Cup and still managed to win that competition, so expectations are high.
Injuries
Robinson missed the Nations League final against Canada last Sunday with a hamstring issue but is expected to be available for the Gold Cup. The rest of the US roster is healthy.
Jamaica Roster, Injuries, and Betting News
If there’s a dark horse in this tournament, it’s the Reggae Boyz. Thanks to USA and Canada rotating out the stars they have on Champions League clubs, Jamaica boast more players in top European leagues than anyone else in the Gold Cup.
Jamaica’s biggest names are veteran Michail Antonio (West Ham), Leon Bailey (Aston Villa), and Demarai Gray (Everton), and their roster also includes Bobby Reid (Fulham) and Ethan Pinnock (Brentford).
Gray, who just switched his international allegiance from England to Jamaica, is a player to watch after starting 27 Premier League matches for Everton this season. Bailey is also in his prime and played a big role for Aston Villa in ’22-23, with four goals and four assists in 26 starts. Antonio, at 33, is no longer in his prime, but he’s scored 35 goals over the last four seasons with West Ham, including five in ’22-23.
Jamaica’s manager, Heimir Hallgrímsson, is another familiar name to fans of European soccer, as he led Iceland to a memorable upset of England in the Euro 2016 Round of 16, then helped Iceland qualify for the World Cup for the first time in 2018.
Hallgrimsson’s talented group has yet to put it all together, but they have a shot to make a run in this tournament, especially given how poorly Mexico and Canada looked at times in the Nations League.
Injuries
Jamaica appear to be healthy going into Saturday’s match-up against the USMNT.

USA vs. Jamaica Prediction: USA 2, Jamaica 1
Jamaica offer serious value at +390, given the uncertainty around the USA lineup for this match. That might seem hard to believe, but Bailey, Antonio, and Gray are all dangerous players who will take advantage if USA’s back line makes any mistakes.
USA are favored based on their success in 2021 and how well they played in the Nations League, but this is a different roster that is relying heavily on mostly unproven players.
Still, USA have plenty of experience. And while Jamaica’s best players are dangerous, there’s a reason they’re No. 63 in the FIFA rankings, compared to the USA at 13. Ultimately, I expect USA to prevail in a difficult match, but the draw (+250 on FanDuel) or Double Chance – Jamaica or Draw (+105) are both tempting.

- Both Teams To Score – Yes (-108)
