FINESS BERE: 2yo filly was making her first stateside start for Baffert, going a mile on the turf in the Blue North. After breaking last in this field of 11 form post 11 she made a nice late run to finish fourth, Baffert doesn’t do very well with grass horses but we will give her a big shot next out, especially if he tries her on the dirt.

CHARMINGSLEW: First time starter was getting Gary Stevens riding for the low profile Neil French barn; we take notice of that. This 2yo filly was steadied at the start, costing her. She chased off the rail, then made a four-wide run into the stretch and came home smartly to finish 3rd, just missing the place by a half length at 17/1. We will give her a big shot next out going a little longer if Gary sticks.

FLY TO MARS: Was going down the hill and won his only other try down the hill. When horses show they like this tricky course you must stay with them. He came right back to score an easy win; this looks to be his game.

INCENSED-SKELTON PASS: The Peter Miller barn is firing rapidly and sent out two runners in this race: The winner Tristan’s Trilogy and second place finisher Incensed, who lost by a nostril at 8/1 holding off the 3rd place finisher Skelton Pass by a neck. Skelton Pass was claimed by David Jacobson who has been spending a lot of cash claiming runners so far at Santa Anita. We will be on both of these runners next out going down the hill.

HOPE WINS: Ran a so-so 3rd going down the hill but may need a flat mile to get the maiden score or longer. We will look for the stretchout on the grass; if so we will be heading to the betting windows or firing up our app.

CHARLIE COWDEN: Was exiting our HTW list and looked to have found a winning spot. He broke slow and bobbled when squeezed off, then clipped heels and basicly lost any shot. He did run on late to finish 4th. We will give him one more shot.

CONQUEST SABRE CAT: Was stuck on the far outside in this mile turf race and was five wide most of the trip. He ran on determinedly to finish a solid 3rd, just missing the place by a dwindling neck. We will give him a big time shot next out going long on the grass with a better post. $$$

LAKE TIME: Had been working great and finally brought those works to the track, winning this six furlong race for fun. He will repeat next out and will be a solid single. $$$$$
