Betting on Week 15 anytime touchdown scorer props just got a bit trickier! On Friday, widespread COVID-19 positive tests forced the NFL to postpone multiple games. Those games will now take place on Monday (Raiders-Browns) and Tuesday (Seahawks-Rams, Washington-Eagles) instead of this weekend. The uncertainty forced oddsmakers to delay the release of TD scorer props. Since we don’t know who will be playing in many of these games, the options are a bit lighter than usual. Still, there are plenty of Week 15 touchdown scorer props to choose from.
If you are looking for my usual player props that do not include touchdown scorers, you can find them here.
All numbers listed below for touchdown scorers were available as of Friday. The line is extremely important because it translates to betting value. For example, Zach Wilson would not be a worthy bet if his number moved to +200. At +800, Wilson is a bet because of the excellent value with a big potential payout. As numbers change, exercise caution before placing your wager. A bet at one price may not still be good at another price.
And as always, follow the advice of Furio from The Sopranos …. “Bet with your head, not over it”
Week 15 Anytime TD Scorer Props
Chase Claypool TD Scorer +240 (DraftKings)
The enigma that is Chase Claypool carries some risk that Mike Tomlin might just get fed up and sit him on the bench. However, at this price and with his skillset, the value is undeniable. Against a bad Titans secondary, Roethlisberger should look for Claypool and Johnson throughout. It’s a redemption game for one of the most talented — yet immature — wide receivers in the NFL. He is +1500 to score twice, but I’d want a better number — around +2000 — to bet it.
Zach Wilson Anytime Touchdown Scorer +800 (FanDuel)
A stab here for sure, but Wilson has shown the willingness to run the football recently. Last week, he rushed for 33 yards on four carries, and he ran for a touchdown in each of the two previous weeks. Admittedly, this isn’t the most likely TD prop of the week, and the odds suggest that, but at +850, we could do much worse in terms of value.
Chris Godwin Anytime Touchdown Scorer +115 (DraftKings)
Chris Godwin has been on a roll recently. In his last two weeks, he has 10 catches for 105 and 15 catches for 143. He has not scored a touchdown in any of those games, so the line is a bit better than it should be. In the Bucs’ first meeting of the season against the Saints, Godwin had eight catches for 140 yards and a touchdown. Chris is on a different level right now with Brady feeding him the ball at will. Marshon Lattimore will take on Mike Evans as usual, setting up Godwin to take advantage of the rest of the Saints secondary.
Kyler Murray TD Scorer +125 (PointsBet)
Kyler Murray might as well be nicknamed “Showtime” as one of the most exciting players to watch in the NFL. He loves to run around the goal line, and should’ve done more of it against the Rams. Instead, he threw a terrible goal-line interception on a tipped pass by Aaron Donald. This game shouldn’t be very close at all, so James Conner could feast as well. However, he is -225 to score a touchdown, which is way too high to bet on any touchdown scorer. Expect Murray to run at least one in on an option play at the goal line or on a scramble.
