This past week in college football and the NFL was one of the craziest this bettor has ever seen in my 55 years of betting and watching football.

The College games were simply amazing, especially with Pitt’s straight up road win at Clemson, also a game I liked, USC beating undefeated Washington on the road and Iowa knocking off undefeated Michigan with a huge defensive effort. These games have really shaken up things, opening the door to Ohio State if they can beat Michigan State and Michigan in their last two games.

At this point USC is a team I would not want to bet against, they have great talent and have got it all together, winning six straight games.

My one NFL note: QB Rodgers for the Packers stated his team’s play two weeks ago was unacceptable. Well, I guess his teammates did not like what he said and stuck it to him, poor little spoiled brats!

The picks were .500 last week as we continue to look for winners, so let’s get this show on the road as we have a lot of plays this week.

College Football

Saturday, Nov. 19

Iowa -11.5 at ILLINOIS: Don’t see the Hawkeyes getting up for this road game versus the Illini, who look for revenge from last year’s 29-20 loss in Iowa City. We will take the points. ILLINOIS

DUKE +7.5 at Pittsburgh: Another team that has been celebrating all week with their huge road upset of previously undefeated Clemson. Do not see them getting any emotion for this game versus a Blue Devil team that is much better than their 4-6 record indicates. Plus Duke also looks for revenge from last year’s 31-13 loss to the Panthers in Durham. DUKE

Oklahoma +2.5 at WEST VIRGINIA: This should be a really great game pitting the 8-2 Sooners versus the 8-1 Mountaineers in a big revenge game for WVU, who were embarrassed last year in Norman, 44-24. Revenge will be sweet in Morgantown in a very rousing atmosphere. WEST VIRGINIA

Washington State +3 at COLORADO: This will be a very good game with the 8-2 Cougars on the road playing the 8-2 Buffaloes. Both teams are having have their best year and both are heading to bowl games. The winner here will upgrade to a much better bowl game. These two look very equal but we will side with Colorado in the revenge factor as they lost in Pullman last year, 27-3, and have covered every game but one. COLORADO

Tulsa -2.5 at CENTRAL FLORIDA: We have been on the Knights from Orlando for sometime with first year headcoach Scott Frost really turning the program upside down, going from no wins last year to 6-4 so far this year and with a win here a bowl game. The Knights have circled this game as they look for revenge from last year’s 45-30 loss in Tulsa. UCF

Ohio State -22 at MICHIGAN STATE: Can an Urban Meyer team be looking ahead? In this case, yes. We don’t see them losing this game with a shot at the final four but we do not see them winning by this many points on the road in East Lansing versus the Spartans, who only lost to Michigan by nine points when getting +24. The stage will be set but Michigan State gets the cover. MICHIGAN STATE

Oregon +12 at UTAH: The Ducks are like a fish out of water as they have completely tossed in the towel, losing 7 of their last 8 games, covering just one of those games. The 8-2 Utes are heading to a bowl game and it will be upgraded if they can win here and next week at Colorado. But the win here comes first, lay the points. UTAH

Last week: 3-3

Season: 25-38-2

“As the World Turns” was a daily soap I would watch with my mom sometimes and last week football reminded me of a soap. Look for a return to the norm this week as we always have the hope that the world is turning in our favor and we are walking around lucky and don’t even know it.
