Last week, we found tacos in Las Vegas’ Chinatown. This week, I found some of the best chicken wings, also in Chinatown.
Anyone who has followed my column knows my love for chicken wings. Honestly, wings should be their own food group if I had my way.
If you haven’t been to Chinatown recently, you might not recognize it as so many new places have been popping up. One of them is Shanghai Plaza, located at 4276 Spring Mountain Road. Shanghai Plaza is home to several new restaurants and shops, including BB.Q Chicken.

I had been hearing about a Korean Fried Chicken place coming and it was supposed to be home to some of the best chicken wings in the world. Well that is a pretty bold statement. And being the chicken wing connoisseur that I am, it was almost a challenge for me to try these wings out for myself.
As far as chicken wings go, a medium size order at BB.Q Chicken is nine wings for $13.99. That’s a little on the high side pricing-wise, but honestly the wings are very big and meaty, so you do get a lot of food for the money.
I ordered the Soy Garlic wings and let me tell you they were incredible. For big wings, they were cooked perfectly — very crunchy on the outside yet moist on the inside. These wings were so good.
They have five different flavors that has 2 peppers listed on their heat index, Wings of Fire that come in with 4 peppers on the heat index and Gangnam Style Wings that has 1 pepper on the heat index. The other 2 flavors Honey Garlic and Soy Garlic have no heat.
BB.Q Chicken also offers boneless chicken as well with a few more sauce options. They have several side dishes to go with your chicken wings with one of the more popular being their fried dumplings. They come out perfectly crispy on the outside with the inside moist and flavorful. I actually enjoyed these a lot and was a nice change to the usual side dish of fries.
Monday thru Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. they have a lunch special where for $9.99 you get boneless wings, fries and a soda with your choice of sauce. This is a great deal and will fill you up.
I visited on a Saturday and the place was packed. It took 30 minutes to get my order, but when everything is fresh and cooked to order it takes a little time and it was well worth the wait.
I enjoyed everything I had, and the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I give BB.Q Chicken a Rating of 3.75 Forks.
