How good is Michigan? Well just ask Pat Fitzgerald the head coach of Northwestern or Bronco Mendenhall the head coach of BYU whose teams could not get a point versus the Wolverines who also shut out Maryland between the two.

Michigan has now won five straight since losing their home opener in Salt Lake City to the Utes who are a perfect 5-0, but I don’t think Utah could beat them again. Michigan gets the undefeated Spartans in the Big House this week. We’ll go into more detail later.

Last Saturday as I sat at home having some wine as my hard earned money went down the drain with Northwestern. I learned a lesson from back in the past courtesy of my good friend Jim Long. If you are a $50 bettor and for some reason find a game you just love and bet $200, you will lose. As you go into another dimension, your side may have won for someone else but in your dimension you lose!

I did step out and Rod Serling and Jim Long were right, I found myself in the Twilight Zone. I am just sorry for Northwestern who I caused to lose or maybe they did win in the 5th dimension.

Last week despite my total collapse with Northwestern and a cinch UNDER that went OVER, we still went 6-5 in college and 1-1 in the NFL with the Raiders giving it up late.

Let’s get to some games.

College Football
Thursday

Auburn -2 at Kentucky: I have been asked where I get these betting lines. Since I put this column in at 5 a.m. Monday morning I get the betting line from Wynn sportsbook, who puts them up on Sunday. We will lay the small number with the Tigers as Kentucky has gone 0-8 ATS as dogs of 14 points or less when coming off a win. They beat E. Kentucky in their last game, 34-27, as a 27-point chalk. AUBURN.

UCLA +5 at Stanford: This one is worth staying up for as we get the Bruins as a dog for the first time this year and mad bruin coming off their first loss. UCLA will also be in revenge mood as they were beat by the Cardinal last year at home, 31-10, and the previous year at Stanford, 24-10, and in 2012, 35-17, and in 2011, 45-19, and in 2010, 35-0. Will UCLA ever beat Stanford again? Well Northwestern beat them! Stanford has gone 0-6 ATS when playing a team off a loss in a game they were the favorite. UCLA.

Friday

Cincinnati +7 at BYU: The Bearcats travel to unfriendly Provo to meet the Cougars in this non-conference game. This will not be a good trip West as BYU has gone 5-0 ATS after giving up 38 or more points in their previous game. They beat East Carolina last week, 45-38. BYU.

I was going to use the UNLV Rebels who are playing their hearts out every week but left the game alone as I don’t want to jinx them. Go Rebs!

Saturday

Iowa PK at Northwestern: As Ronald Reagan would say, “here we go again.” Must take a shot with the Wildcats on the rebound in this big revenge game vs. the 6-0 Hawkeyes who really put it to them last year in Iowa City, 48-7. The Cats have gone 5-0 ATS after scoring 10 or less points. NORTHWESTERN.

Wake Forest +14.5 at UNC: Wake has gone 0-9 ATS when getting 3 or more points in the second of back-to-back road games while the Tar Heels have gone 4-0 in the first of back-to-back home games. N. CAROLINA.

Alabama -4.5 at Texas A&M: The Tide is on a roll and needs to win out in order to have a shot at the playoffs so this is a must win game. The Aggies from College Station have gone 0-9 ATS when coming off an extra week’s rest. ALABAMA.

Florida +6 at LSU: Not easy to play a night game in Baton Rouge but the Gator defense will be sky high as they look to avenge last year’s 30-27 loss in Gainesville. If the Gators win they look like they can run the table. Florida has gone 9-0 ATS as conference dogs of 28 or less points when coming off of back-to-back SU and ATS wins. A real barn burner in Baton Rouge. FLORIDA/UNDER.

Oklahoma -4.5 at Kansas St.: K. State could easily be a perfect 5-0 but took horrible tough back-to-back losses to TCU and Oklahomaa State. The Wildcats have gone 9-0 ATS in games after allowing 35 or more points in their previous game. They lost last weekend 52-45. KANSAS ST.

Michigan St. +6 .5 at MICHIGAN: Ya think the Big House will be loud! Harbaugh really has his Wolverines playing great defense with three straight shutouts and, as they say, if the other team don’t score they can’t beat you. The Spartans have gone 6-0 SU but 0-6 ATS. Michigan out for revenge from last year’s 35-11 loss in East Lansing. Look for them to keep rolling for their date with destiny against Ohio State set for the last game of regular season Nov. 28. MICHIGAN.

West Virginia +20 at BAYLOR: Hate to lay the wood as I usually get back-doored but we will lay the 20 in what is a huge revenge game for the Bears who lost in Morgantown last year, 41-27, costing them a playoff spot. BAYLOR.

Get off that couch, get out and make a 10 team parlay as you just could be walking around lucky and not even know it.
