When your ad campaign is the World’s Biggest Hooters people are going to take notice. I know I just got your attention.
Fact is they are not talking about what the Hooters Restaurant chain is known for but rather the size of the restaurant itself. This week I attended the official opening of the Hooters inside the Palms Casino Resort and, indeed, this is the world’s biggest. Although I cannot claim to have been in every Hooters I have been in my fair share, including every location here in Las Vegas.
If you are a male over the age of 21 then there is a pretty good chance you have been in a Hooters before, and why not? They have chicken wings, cold beer and attractive waitresses bringing you your food. Yes, this Hooters has all that but what sets this one apart from the rest is the set up.
This Hooters has two floors and is located right next to the Palms pool, which is going to add even more to the scenery as you can sit outside and dine on the patio poolside or upstairs on the balcony. On a busy weekend with all the pool parties, dining at the upstairs balcony gives you a bird’s-eye view. It gave me more of a day club feel rather than just a typical Hooters restaurant.
If you want to watch sports while enjoying some wings and cold ones the TV set up is great. No matter where you sit there will be plenty of TVs to let you watch all your favorite games. There is even a room on the second level that overlooked the inside of the restaurant.
Hooters has expanded its menu selections over the last few years to offer more than just burgers and wings but let’s face it, we’re here for the wings. Hooters offers 18 different wing sauces. My personal favorite is still spicy garlic.
You can get your wings prepared two different ways. Original is where the wings are breaded then fried and tossed in your favorite sauce. They now have a second called Daytona Beach Style or as many call them “naked” wings where there is no breading. They toss them in your favorite sauce cooked on the grill. I switch off between the two styles, liking both. I always get a side order of the curly fries to enjoy with the wings as well.
The waitresses are friendly, as you would expect, and with the set up here for watching the games this will be my favorite location of Hooters we have around town. I give Hooters at the Palms Casino Resort a rating of 3.50 Forks.
