NFL football:

Dallas Cowboys -6½ at Washington Redskins (Total 42): The Cowboys tipped their hand last week with a huge and decisive win over the Saints, while the Redskins reached rock bottom with a humiliating loss to the Giants. It may not be so bad this week, but the results should be the same. Dallas finally appears to have found the formula for using their talented playmakers, both rushing and throwing the ball; Marion Barber and Felix Jones combined last week for 120 yards rushing and that was key in keeping New Orleans off-balance. Washington is banged up on the offensive line, and there could be dissension with lame duck coach Jim Zorn, who sent Haynesworth home from practice last week for disciplinary reasons. Dallas is still in the hunt for a playoff spot and they should be intense for this one. Dallas -6½ Other top NFL choices: Cincinnati Bengals -13½ over Kansas City New York Giants -7 over Carolina New England Patriots -7½ over Jacksonville College football:

Music City Bowl

Kentucky vs. Clemson -7 (Total 51½ ): The Clemson Tigers are coming off a nice season that was clouded by their loss to Georgia Tech for the ACC title. Kentucky had a rough season which was marred by key injuries, though they had a few shining moments in the very tough SEC. Give the Wildcats a shot here to show what they can really do, now that they’re close to full strength. Both teams rush the fall fairly well, averaging nearly 5 yards per carry, though Clemson might have a slight edge in the passing attack. In either case, there will probably be plenty of scoring in this one. Kentucky/Clemson OVER the total of 51½ with a lean to Kentucky +7 to keep it close.
