Here’s a solid play in lead-in to Super Bowl

Sometimes the thinking process is just not exactly correct and it causes us bettors to lose, and that is what partially happened to me last week.

I thought everything out carefully but it just did not work; maybe it partially worked as I did like and bet all four games under the total. The only game that went over was the first game between the Cardinals and Saints and that game just got out of hand early, but I was able to recoup some of my wager betting the second half under 27 and that turned out to be an easy win with Kurt Warner hurt and the Cards were finished.

The game managed to go over by just two points. The other three games were all easy unders but my sides were just no good as my thinking process was simply dead wrong.

Now what I imagined was that the teams that played the week before would have an edge on the ones that had that extra week off, but the teams that won the week before had to travel to a hostile place and play a very good team that was rested and ready, and that is how the first three games went as the home teams, Saints, Colts and Vikings, had no problem in winning and covering the point spread.

Now, after watching those three games I felt very good about my teasers all ending on the Chargers -1. Everyone that was betting must have realized this same trend as the Charger game just moved like a fast train with the line moving to San Diego -9 ½.

Well, I just could not pass up a shot at a nine point middle so I bought the game to Jets +10 for just a piece of my bet mostly because I was very confident that I had the winner but did not know at the time that the almost perfect field goal kicker for the Chargers, who had just missed only three field goals all year, would miss his three attempts on Sunday, and cost me all my hard earned dough; well not all of it but a big chunk.

As exiting as the games were, the week before was just about how non-exciting they were this past week; we will regroup and hope that the thinking process will be right on this week as the two games look very competitive; well at least one of them looks to be a game that can go right down to the wire.

NFL Conference Championships

Sunday, Jan. 24

Jets +7½ total 41 at Colts: As well as the Jet defense is playing, I would not bet them in this situation and I already played on the Colts -7 -120. Colt fans were just furious when Lying Jim Caldwell said he would let all his starters play the entire game on Dec. 27 but he pulled most of the starters in the second half and the Jets ended up crushing the Colts 29-15 as the Colt fans booed them out of the house.

There will be no mistakes by the Colts Manning in this game and I will stick with the under and remember the Jets were in Cincy two weeks ago and then had to travel cross country to San Diego and now to Indianapolis … big advantage to Colts. COLTS -7½ AND UNDER 41

Vikings +4 total 53 at Saints: Will this game featuring two big time QBs be a shootout, just like last week? It looks like an over all the way but I will have to pass betting the total either way after getting burned last week. These two teams did not meet this year but the Vikes won here last year 30-27 as a three point dog. This game is a real puzzler for me but I will be rooting for the Saints to put Bret out of his misery and maybe he will finally retire, come on Drew Brees. SAINTS -4

Betting note:

Don’t forget the live betting action during the games offered by Cantor Gaming at several locations, M Resort, The Venetian and Palazzo. Believe me you will find some winning wagers available during the game … just have a little patience. Also if you got some big bucks and a good opinion "M" is offering limitless wagering, they have no limits on these games as most spots put up betting limits like 25K on the sides. If you have the cash "M" says come in and we will take any amount. Just two weeks ago Pro handicapper Adam Meyer bet 300k on the Arizona Cardinals. I wonder if his heart was pounding in OT.

Mr. Meyer has told the people at "M" that he will be back to bet a cool million on the Super Bowl and I just may be there with my camera if he gives me the OK.
