There is a whole lot of talk about what happened between the New Orleans Saints and the Atlanta Falcons last year. Only, does that really matter? I think not.
It’s all about this year and who’s going to bring what to the table this Thursday night. As we have seen this entire season, it’s not only ‘Any Given Sunday’ but also ‘Any Given Thursday’ that can cause fans and sports bettors to be shaking their heads while the National Football League continues to surprise us with unpredictable outcome. This matchup is no exception.
The line opened with the Saints -4 at Atlanta, and it’s now down to Saints -1 at many of the sports books around town. That just goes to show, that this one can be anyone’s game and while my heart says, Saints, my head says Falcons. So rather than have this internal argument, let’s take a look at the total, which is right now at 52.5.
With a predicted score of 27-17, we would be UNDER the predicted total, and even if you tack on another touchdown, you’re still looking that way.
Atlanta will look to rebound after a loss to Minnesota that might have taken out some of their overall luster. The Saints are coming off a nice win against the Carolina Panthers, and that might be enough to have inspiration along with momentum on the side of the Saints.
Consider the total before picking a side. My pick is UNDER.
